Excellent Experience!

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this trip.  Even thought the furnishings and decor of the boat were slightly dated, the boat was in great shape.  Our Veranda Stateroom was extremely comfortable and roomier than similar cabins on other boats.  Every member of the staff and crew was exceedingly kind, courteous, pleasant, and friendly.  By day two of the cruise, several of the crew and staff already knew us by name and spoke with us personally anytime we passed.  The food was amazing.  Unlike some other cruise lines, Holland America never pushed us to purchase shore excursions or retail items either in port or aboard the ship.  It was a no-pressure cruise to say the least.  This was our first Holland America cruise, but it will definitely not be the last.

Ship Quality
The ship was extremely well-maintained.
Food and Dining
Every meal we ate was absolutely fantastic. 5-Star dining every night!
Cabin / Stateroom
Roomy, clean, extremely comfortable
Service and Staff
Everyone was amazing, especially Alex, Christina, Daniel, and Caroline in the casino.
The shows weren't Broadway quality, but they were entertaining and enjoyable
Children's Programs There were very few children aboard and we had none, so we can't comment on the children's programs
Onboard Activities
The ship was well equipped with more to do than we could experience in a short seven day trip. The casino and staff were top-notch.
Destinations and Excursions
Half Moon Cay was relaxing and enjoyable. Jamaica was typical of any Jamaican stop; nothing special. Georgetown Grand Cayman was gorgesous and the scuba diving was world-class. Key West is always a fun city, even if for a few hours.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Ft. Lauderdale was the start and end of the cruise, so we only saw the port terminal.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
Relaxing, beautiful beach
Falmouth, Jamaica
Typical of almost any port city in Jamaica. A great place to smoke a good cuban cigar and enjoy some local rum.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Georgeous city. Amazing, world-class scuba diving with Don Foster's dive shop.
Key West, Florida
Key West is always a fun city.

If you are looking for a boat with an older crowd (average age was probably 50ish), this is the boat for you. There were very few children and absolutely no out of control teenagers. It was a pleasant, relaxing, and peaceful cruise.
