Aboard ship was easy and fast without line. we enjoyed most island where ship stopped.

This was my 5th cruise on the Zaandam and this cruise gave me 200 days with Holland America. We saw a lot of whales and dolphins in the Cabo San Lucas area

The Zaandam was very clean, and well maintained. The room stewards did an excellent job of keeping our stateroom clean. We ended up enjoying the As Is dining and met many interesting people. Did need to make a reservation. We felt that the internet was very slow and expensive, however the internet manager was very helpful. Enjoyed the entertainers, wish that there had been more enrichment speakers. Thought that Kainoa did a great job. Enjoyed Michael the cruise director and marveled at his energy and enthusiasm. The food was good in both Dining Room and Lido Deck. Enjoyed the high tea at 3:00 PM each day.

Ship was well maintained and run well.

It was very clean the staff was great but when the final bill hits the table wacth out! very exspensive. cheaper to rent a condo and eat out at fancy resturants, and time in port is very short 2.5 days, and 4 days at sea not a good combination.

The ship was very nice. It was very clean and I was surprised at the spaciousness of the room (lower, interior cabin!) in comparison to the only other cruise I've been on.

Old world Italian elegance of another century, over the top service. Friendliness of the staff. Superb. All were knowledgable and even remembered our names. Very sweet and sunny. Very clean and I never once felt ill or thought I might be in danger. I loved the explorer's lounge! Nice gifts in a wide range of prices. The lady who taught pearl stringing was good and the lectures informative. Entertainmnet was top drawer!

The ship is impressive to look at. It is smaller in size with just over 1400 passengers. Built in 2000. It is missing a good, time-killing bar with tv's. Even if the tv's had dvd's playing it would be alright.

We had no complaints aboard this ship. The embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The staff, as usual with Holland America, was lovely. They treated us all like princesses.

Not a good cabin to be in as it is next to one of the gangways. The ship is very tired and desperately in need of a refit, the bathroom was in need of remedial work, as the toilet failed to work 7 times and on one occasion overflowed, also the air conditioning was not consistent. The staff with the exception of one department were fabulous particularly the Philipino and Indonesian staff were brilliant and the best we have been in contact with during our cruise lifetime. Unless the ship has a refit I will not cruise on that ship again. In conclusion the itinerary was great and apart from the cabin issues we had a great time, the athmosphere on the ship was brill.

To manage all the programs, meals, cleaning of state rooms and the ship in general was outstanding.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful except as noted below. We appreciated the smaller size of the ship and the presence of gathering areas that were more intimate.

This was by far my most favorite cruise as it was 14 days with two 4 day sea legs which I love as the sea is much better than any port. The room was perfect, staff and service excellent, the ship was small and I like it that way. Its why I prefer HAL, as they have not turned their entire fleet into floating cities. I am in my 40s which makes me one of the younger passengers aboard, but considering I can stay awake a lot longer makes for a private ship experience as most are asleep by 10pm. I recommend the ship, the trip, and I will do the trip again.

We have done 6 cruise with cruise 411 all on Holland America. I love Zaandam. Did a 14 day Hawaiian cruise and 2 Mexican Riviera cruises. I have loved them all. The suites are alot larger than on Oosterdam or Ryandam.

We had such a great time when we sailed on her to Mexico on a 10 day cruise in 2009 that we booked for 2011 the Hawaiian 14 day cruise for Feb. 2011. Just 3 weeks till we sail can't wait. This will be our 25th cruise.

This was a 10 day cruise to Mexico we started the cruise in San Diego and stopped at ,Puerto Vallarta , Cabo San Lucas , Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo , good food and smooth sailing

Older ship that we only rode for one night as they repositioned from Seattle to Vancouver. The crew appeared to have very little interest in serving the single night passengers. Most likely because they tip less. Too bad. Guessing it might be better on a longer cruise but not very interested in finding out.
