Review summary

Loved that cruise and the Zaandam is a beautifull ship!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were scheduled with group A at 11h am and got onboard by 11h45. Very easy process! Was so excited to leave from nearby homeport! For those bringing a bottle of wine onboard (ok with HAL), once check in process is done, you will have to show it at the purser's table in the terminal. Good news: all staterooms were ready once we got onboard and don't hesitate to lunch at the dinning room on deck 4! Stateroom 2511 has a renovated bathroom😉

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dinning room food was amazing as well as at the Italian Canaletto restaurant ($). Buffet was very good too. Actually, I enjoyed all my meals! Loved the different happy hours each day with 50% off on most drinks!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
This was my 1st cruise on HAL. Amazing shows, performers and artists! Don't miss the BBC nature show with onboard orchestra as well as the final show called Billboard. Loved all shows. HAL is more geared towards music, artistic stuff, educational stuff than parties or big party event. I liked that more relaxed pace. Just enjoy!

Ship Quality

Eventhough the Zaandam is 22 years old, it is well maintained, very clean and beautiful! I would'nt hesitate to get on it again. Beeing a smaller ship it was easy to navigate and find your way.

Very nice. Renovated bathroom! Stateroom 2511

Ship tip

Don't miss the organ pipe show as well as all shows and music! Casino is kinda very small...Loved the Crow's nest deck 9. Loved the whole ship.

Disembarkation

We dissembarked in Boston. We left the ship at around 9 am. Very smooth but once outside, long taxi line, had to wait for one hour...For those going to the airport, at one point there was a bus from Boston mass transit picking up pax right next to the taxi waiting area. Not sure of that bus schedule...
