Review summary

The scenery and location for this cruise are the highlights. The ship experience was fine, but nothing above average. The experiences we had with views and wildlife made this a memorable vacation. I was concerned with the lack of cultural diversity among the cruise guests. Perhaps Holland America needs to market to people of other ages, races, and backgrounds. This was a ship full of white-haired, white-skinned senior citizens.

I'm 46 and my wife and I love HAL 1. HAL has smaller ships 2. after 10 pm I have the entire ship to my self as most of the passengers are asleep by then

Every cruise line has a target demographic, on HAL it just happens to be seniors. I have cruised on HAL, great food, but nothing to spicy, good entertainment but nothing to racy or to late into the night or early morning. When you get to be a Senior, you'll appreciate HAL more.

Seniors enjoy Holland America because it is a classy less wild cruise line. Let the seniors have this one.
