Review summary

The service was outstanding, the crew was extremely accomodating and and a pleasure throughout the ship. We always had fresh ice in our balcony suite as well as fresh fruit, linens and when we ordered breakfast in the cabin, it arrived promptly and hot.

We had As You Wish Dining and never had a problem being seated quickly and when we made reservations, we were seated immediately. The food both in the Main Dining Room and the Lido buffet was excellent. The desert buffet one evening on the Lido Deck was overwhelming and out of the world.

Friendly, smiling, helpful, there was nothing left undone. Everyone we ecnountered greeeted us with a friendly smile.

We were upgraded to a AA balcony suite and it was large, had a king size bed, shower and tub and lots of room for clothes and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. It was great to have the balcony we had a great view of the glaciers, docking in ports and we really enjoyed the "openess"it gave the cabin. We also enjoyed the towel animals every evening.

We were only there for a few hours in the evening. What a pretty quiant city. We wished we had more time to really see this port, and more so in the daylight. We did enjoy the city tour we did take as we got to see the hightlights of the city.

We toured a salmon hatchery andwent to Mendenhall Glacier, which was very impressive. We stopped in the Red Dog Saloon and enjoyed the atmoshpere and an Alaskan Amber Ale, (which we were introduced to at the ship's Alaskan Beer Tasting)

We went to the National Historic Park and saw the huge totem pole. We did our own walking tour of the city, did some shopping. Unfortunately it was very overcast and with the low-lying clouds, we did not get the full effect of this pretty town.

Don't Miss: Totem poles and rich Russian heritage. especially noted in some of the shops with the beautiful nesting dolls.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Creek Street is the highlight of this town. The weather was clear and sunny and it was a beautiful stop, as we got to see the mountains and beautifuil scenery.

Pros: The service was outstanding, our cabin steward was efficient, and a delight

Cons: Our only complaint, was one evening the dining room drink waiter insisted on bring ing my husband double rum and coke and then charging for them, even though he specifically asked for single.

Recommends Zaandam? Yes!
