The Wonder is a very large and very beautiful ship. There is so much to do. The only problems for an older couple is the amount of children running around and causing some problems. If you don't want to have to deal with screaming babies and whoever in there right mind would bring an infant baby on a cruise is beyond me. They don't have developed immune systems yet and they are being exposed to thousands of person. I probably will not cruise on a ship that has mostly children on it. Royal doesn't do a good job of keeping them out of the ho-tubs jumping in a splashing guests while the parents are not monitoring them becasue their off drinking. The pools and hot tubs are a joke crammed packed with unruly children and no personal to monitor. Royal needs to have a pool that's just for adults and Royal needs to monitor that to keep it adult only. Royal next cruise shouldn't lie and say that a particular cruise wont have hardly any children on it at a particular time. Parents will always illegally take there children out of school so they can go on a cruise when they want and not at spring break. Royal needs to have an ship like Icon and Wonder that is has like a 10% limit for persons under 21 years old. I know that people will say just go on a Princess, I agree but Royal is big enough and is constantly adding new mega ships that they can have at least 1 ship mainly dedicated to adults. I don't want to loose Crown and Anchor points and I like RC except for the huge amount of children.

Food and Dining

all the dining venues were excellent. The only problems was the amount of children on this cruise. I was initially told by Royal that there wouldn't be many children on this cruise becase its wasn't spring break anywhere. The problem is that all the parents with school age kids took them out of school anyway. I read many reports of very unruly teenage kids doing all kinds of bad stuff without any repercussions. From knocking water onto guests below them and playing ping-pong in between stateroom doors to taking over hot-tubs and other such bad behavior. Royal needs to have far more visible security personal that can put a quick stop to such behavior. On my whole cruise I only saw a couple security person mainly small women who would never put any fear in any unruly teenager.
Onboard Activities

There is so much to do on the ship.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The entertainment was excellent. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because the Effectors show was cancelled due to technical difficulties.

The rooms layout was not good. The layout on Oddessy and Harmony was much better and seemed larger. This room felt very cramped. The Closet is in a very bad location right by the doors entrance and the sliding doors on the closet were very cumbersome and not a good design.
yes we did the Snorkel and swim with the Stingrays. Then they took us to some Cenotes and that was a very long ride on very bad roads. The Cenotes was very nasty smelling and wasnt as advertised. We could have totally skipped that becaseu they took us to a nice beach with an good buffet afterward but we only had 1 hour there so we were very rushed. Everyone agreed that the Cenotes should have been skipped so we could have spent much more time at the beach.
This is a very beautiful port and we did the swimming with the Dolphins. It was the best thing we did on this cruise. The only problem is that there were 3 cruise ships and the port was mobbed very crowded.
Thanks for sharing your cruise experience. I’m glad you were able to enjoy most of your cruise. We were on the same sailing. Wonder is a ship that is geared towards families so there were many, many families onboard. We knew that prior to booking. I’m a retired teacher. Many families take their children out of school for vacations other than spring, winter or summer breaks because the cruises are often cheaper than the traditional break times. It also could have been winter breaks for some school districts because of the Presidents Day holiday. I met a family that home schools their children. That also is a factor. I saw children acting up but no more than other cruises we’ve been on. There were some who acted up right in front of their parents and their parents did not address the issue while others did address the issue. We had a wonderful time on our cruise as well. We’ve found that Royal’s smaller ships have less children on them in our experiences. You may look into those ships for future cruises.
