Review summary

If you are only looking for pools and slides, this could be the cruise for you. It certainly will not be re-visited by us. We were traveling with another couple, and everyone agreed that this was a waste of time and money. We felt cheated. Majority of the entertainment we wanted to see was unavailable due to venues too small to accommodate the massive crowds. The ship's "APP" wouldn't allow us to book reservations properly. Even guest services couldn't book open seats, and finally gave us their business cards with handwritten pass on the back of it. We had requested any time dining, but was awarded early dining in the back corner of the dining room (table #788). It was like being seated in a small dungeon, with views of a blank wall in front of one side and views of about ten tables on the other side. Food in the main dining room was average. We would rate the buffet food to be on par with Denney's and Golden Corral. Ship only had three scheduled stops. We were looking forward to our first stop "Cocoa Cay", but they cancelled that stop and refunded a mere $31 for not stopping. Cabins are average, and similar to other RCCL cruise ships that we have been on in the past. Saw our cabin steward twice during the entire cruise, even though we only had two days in port. Early dining is at 5:00 p.m. - Any time dining doesn't start until around 6:30 p.m. but we were informed that you are required to make reservations each night for any time dining. Without reservations, you could have long waits to be seated.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Main Dining room was average, at best

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
If all you're looking for in a cruise is pools and slides, this might be the cruise for you.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Majority of shows we wanted to see were pre-booked prior to sailing and unavailable.

Children's Programs

We didn't have children in our party

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Saw our cabin steward twice during the entire cruise, even though we only had two days in port.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was clean / relatively new, but bed was less than comfortable. Other than the main theater, the ship's layout couldn't accommodate large enough crowds for comedy shows, etc to meet the demand

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room was similar to most RCCL ships we have been on previously. Expected more from a new / "mega" ship

Ship tip

Unless you have children and are looking for pools and slides, choose a different ship.

Oops sorry 😞 thanks

I see lots of complaints about the new ships from Carnival, NCL and Royal feeling cramped and crowded with too many small venues. It seems like they tried to add more options than the ship can easily handle with the number of passengers.. Hopefully they will correct that on future builds.
