Review summary

We were celebrating milestone birthdays and splurged more than usual.  One passenger had never been on a cruise.

Windstar Cruises strive to make every passenger feel special while delivering exceptional service and attention.  The staff gets to know the travelers and deliver a friendly and attentive service.

The itinerary included the popular stops like Santorini and Mykonos but it was the smaller ports and islands that charmed us.  The special event at Ephesus was a magical evening that few people would be able to access were it not for Windstar's arrangements.  The stop as Kusadasi, Turkey was another sleeper hit with many passengers.

Overall, the attentive staff, the accommodations on the ship and the itinerary made for an unforgettable experience we already long to emulate on a future trip.

Cabins have a lot of storage space: a closet, a dresser and lots of shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries. Most suitcases would fit under the bed for storage during the trip.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the Laundry Service. It allows you to pack a lot less items (e.g. underwear, undershirts, socks) because you can have it delivered clean within 24 hours. It was a fantastic service.

Most people raved about their tours. We didn't take one but spent some time walking around town and having lunch. Locals are kind and speak great English. The city reminded me a bit of the French Riviera.

We didn't get to visit the Monastery but still took a cab from town to the Chora to walk around. The cab ride was 5 minutes up the hill. Beautiful views from up there of this gorgeous little island.

Our hearts fell for Monemvasia and its charming walled town. Don't bother waiting for the bus to the Old Town. The walk is about 15 minutes.
