Loved the size and layout of the ship. Crew was fantastic. Food was also very good. Would sail on the Westerdam again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived at 11:30 AM and were on board in 10 minutes. Many of the passengers were on tours arriving later in the day.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
MDR was good as always. The Pinnacle was wonderful except for the dessert. Did not eat much in the Lido but it had all of the regular offerings. Service in the MDR was excellent. We had the early 5:30 seating.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We were with friends so we did not do a lot of the activities.

Service and Staff

Staff was wonderful. Everybody had a smile on their face and within one day it seemed like the majority of servers knew our name. Very impressive. HAL really stands out with its people.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Loved the smaller ship. It was fully booked but did not seem busy. The only "busy day" was Glacier Bay day. But that was because everyone was in the Crows Nest! Lido got a little busy at lunch. But overall the ship felt very uncrowded.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a large inside cabin on deck 10. (down the hall from the crows nest) This particular cabin has a window! It is very small and looks out onto the top of the pool cover. But it lets light in. We really loved this cabin. And the bed was very comfortable. (best bed we have had at sea)
We stayed two days in Seward before boarding. Really enjoyed this town. Lots of history and things to do. And not too commercial like some of the other ports. We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast. It was called Sunshine House. http://asunshinehouse.net/ The breakfast is wonderful. And the owners are really super people. There were 4 of us so we basically had the run of the house. Great place to stay if you need a place in Seward.
Many people complain that there is "nothing to do" at this port but we loved it. VERY scenic. Easy walk into town. We did a tour with Rainbow Glaciers. It was a wildlife tour. We really enjoyed it. https://tourhaines.com/
