Review summary

Amazing room...pretty ship, great food! The sea days (which there are 3) could get a little boring if you are just a couple. Most activities are lectures. If you go with a large group could be more fun. We did love our time on the ship, but I think they could offer more.

We started our cruise in Vancouver and spent 3 days there prior to boarding. Highly recommend it!

We did the floatplane to Neets Bay. Plane and views were majestic and bears everywhere!

Weather caused our cancellation and so no fault of the ship, but...We were the most excited about this excursion by helicopter to Medenhall Glacier with a yak and dogsledding. The dogsleddingpart got cancelled before we left home, but all else was a go. We got off the ship and it was raining and the tour operators on the pier told us no helicopters were flying and rushed us into choosing something else to do. We did whale watching....yawn! When we got back to the ship we heard for many passengers they had gone to the glacier and it was amazing. I made it very clear to the staff this was on our #1 list. They obviously didn’t care and rushed us into a decision so they could move on to the the next group. The likelihood of us ever being back there is slim to none. My advise...this is your trip and don’t get bullied to making any less than perfect decision for yourself! The Red Dog Saloon did make the day better!

Loved this stop! Did the White Pass Train to Fraiser and bike rod down 15 miles thru Canada and customs. Don’t be put off and think this is scarey...if you can ride a bike, do this tour and stop at the Red Onion Saloon to celebrate your day!

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

Had to leave ship at 6:15 am...why so early? Ruins your last nite and you’re so tired by the time you get to Anchorage...I don’t get it. Train ride does have beautiful sites, but you are crammed into a tight 4 person booth (usually you don’t even know your booth mates) for 4 1/2 hours. Most people are so exhausted from getting up so early they just want to sleep, but impossible due to the uncomfortable seating. I would of opted for the less expensive bus thta leaves a little later and gets you there faster with your own comfy seats! And...it was pouring outside and you have to walk a bit to get to your train car. The gentleman we were seated with has problems walking...he was promised a wheelchair. No wheelchair to be found and he had to make it on his own while being rained on.
