My husband and I were first time cruisers.  We chose Holland America,  not knowing much of the differences.  It was prefect for us.  We liked the mid sized ship.  Because we choose to dubs with other people at dinner each night (optional), and the ship is smaller than some other cruise lines,  we got to know sine of our fellow cruisers. That was very enjoyable - to make friends and see them around.  The food was incredible - better than some top restaurant's I've been to!  If you have the chance,  make a reservation at Le Cirque for dinner. It can't be beat!

Cabin / Stateroom
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Onboard Activities
BB King band was incredible. The adagio (piano and violin) duo were magnificent!
Service and Staff
Our stateroom stewards were amazing - updated our room twice a day! Really, everyone was great. No complaints; only compliments.
Food and Dining
Every meal was incredible. We took advantage of the dining room for dinner each night. The menu and service were spectacular.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Grand Turk Island
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Go to secret harbor - free beach, beautiful and not many people there! It made our day on St. Thomas a treat. There is a hotel on the beach the has a place where you can grab something to eat - great food, and three is a dive shop too so you can rent beach chairs, snorkel equipment, etc.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
Reserve a clam shell. It was about 20.00 for the day, you choose where you want it to be set up and it is a cheap way to have some shade for a potentially long beach day. It is a great beach.
