A relaxing return to the Westerdam

This is our third cruise on the Westerdam....also the shortest.  We enjoyed a relaxing itinerary, stopping in ports we have visited before.  Entertainment on ship was good.  Portion control big time in the main dining room.  Pinnacle Grill and Cannaletto both excellent though.  We also think the décor in the companionways is starting to look dated and a little drab.  Love the layout of the ship.  They have closed our favorite bar in the atrium.  We heard the noise from the bar was disturbing the guests in the Pinnacle Grill.

Cabin / Stateroom
Great stateroom. Even though we were under the pool deck, the noise of moving chairs, even the deck party was not a real problem. Cabin stewards provided excellent service.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Love the layout. Clean too. Décor is starting to look dated and drab in some cases.

Food and Dining
Specialty restaurants and Lido were excellent. Main dining room real small portions.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
If driving...take advantage of the Park N Go lot service. Make parking reservation on line.
Grand Turk Island
Best beach is right next to the pier. If beach is what you want, don't take an excursion. Beach at Margaritaville is best and free.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Easy to find discounted city tours once you get off the ship. Lot's to do here.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Megan's Bay was closed. Tour operator took us to an alternate beach that was great. How this place has grown!
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
Some of the best beach and sand in the Caribbean.

The side elevators mid ship were the easiest to access and fastest. Pay attention to the support columns in the show lounge, there are obstructed views. Many different lounges to take advantage of. Don't forget the pool behind the Lido restaurant.
