Review summary

The first 3 or 4 days were just awesome! Then, as the week wore on, the staff became a bit less attentive and forgetful of requests for complimentary services along the way. It was very nice that they kept the ship very clean and tidy. There were plenty of opportunities for the guest to part with their cash throughout the entire trip. In fact, the cruise director made jokes of it during the disembarkation talk. Overall, I still score the trip excellent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We did get tired of cafeteria style food from the Lido. And finding a table was very difficult. One time it took me 4 rounds of the entire restaurant to find my spouse. ...maybe the cruiseline should issue out walkie-talkies to the guests so they can find each other faster? (hey! that would be yet another way to part the guests with their cash!)

Our tour, "Victoria Highlights and Craigdaroch Castle" was a bit disappointing. The "Victoria Highlights" portion of the tour was a drive through some neighborhoods on our way to the castle. Although, the castle was fantastic!! Our ship was supposed to dock at 6PM and be there until midnight. But we didn't get into port until about 6:30 and wasn't able to get off the ship to get to the tour until 7ish. So, it was starting to get dark and didn't really get to see much of Victoria.
Don't Miss: the Craigdaroch castle

We thoroughly enjoyed the rain forest hike. We saw two black bears in the sanctuary in the rain forest and hand -fed some reindeer.
Don't Miss: The Rain Forest, Raptors and Totems

We did the Rainforest Canopy and Zipline. It was fantastic! We had a blast! Even though it was raining slightly, it was a lot of fun! (after all, we were in a rain forest!) We also went on the Mt Roberts Tramway. But since it was rainy, we didn't get to go on any hikes on the nature trail. :-(
Don't Miss: the Zipline

Sitka, Alaska

The scenery was fantastic and the hike was very nice. The tour guide of the Rain Forest hike was very knowledgeable and informative. The St. Michaels cathedral was very interesting
Don't Miss: Sitka is absolutely a must see as far as scenery goes

Pros: The scenery

Cons: The mad rush for a window table at the Lido
