Great Anniversary Cruise! by Bill4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Getting a little dated. Probably due for an interior makeover. Still very clean and liveable. Great staff, excellent activity selection.

Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

xmas 2011 from N.Orleans. 1. Rooms: tattered, mold in shower, intercom not functional. one small soap bar for entire cruise, no shampoo, lotions, shower cap, robes; two glasses provided that were never washed or replaced. cabinetry in room had no finished facings--just raw painted boxes like a playroom. Ikea quality but without the veneer. College dorm? Mince was nicer than this. 2. Food. dinners very good. Noisy room, but unavoidable. Sometimes arrived not hot enough. Portifino worthy of mentionthe best. Should have booked it every night in hindsight. Buffet in windjammer basic cafeteria food. About any coffee shop would be better. Good coffee though. 3. Staff. No one spoke good english. Example: The guest relations lady thought I wanted to snorkel when I said I was inquiring about anything historical. 4. Common areas: very nicely designed, the promenade very impressive, but few common bathrooms, a big complaint of wife, and counters were always wet, tables not cleaned up for next passenger. And very loud people of the hee-haw variety. 5. Overall, the cruise had no sense of refinement. this is a basic blue collar party cruise, good for what it is, not for experienced cruisers or the demanding. Wife and I are hard working professionals expecting some quality, attention to more subtle sensibilities for our once annual one week vacation. Examples: a 10 dollar watch sale, which drew a lot of interest, a tattoo area on main promenade for all to see, roaming gangs of adolescents, even call girls were observed. few cultural offerings. Professor Erin Greenwalds lectures the very best by contrast. In all, this cruise had all the ambience of a country western music festival in a hot desert, tank tops, frayed and tattered ball caps and tank tops, a lot of smoke odor, drinking and gambling. I do not think a lot of the passengers ever saw a college graduation.

Voyager of the Seas from NewOrleans x 7 by PeggyS10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the second time on this ship- last time was over 9 years ago and I was traveling with children, now as a couple- sans children- it was much more enjoyable. I was unable to hear any of the anouncements while in the cabin no matter how we tried to tune them in with the in cablin speakers. I usually attend several art events on cruises and get several peices but was totally unimpressed with the selection on this cruise- however on the up side- this limited my on ship spending quite a bit and saved enough to get most of my next cruise paid for. The on shore excursions were well planned out and very enjoyable. Meals were even better than 9 years ago. I would like to see the pocket version of the ship map returned.

Big Ship, but Bad Food by BillL3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Recommend this ship if you worry about motion sickness on board. This Voyager of the Seas does not give you motion sickness at all. It is big, so expect there is a huge crowd if you want to use elevator. Food on board was ok. Every day they serve the same food. I think the only good food I got was a lobster meal on the 2nd to last night of the cruise. You rarely see waiters smile. Great spa service with sauna and steam rooms, but guess what? No comb or Qtips in the shower room. Men's rooms smell. The whole time I felt like I was on board, and that's all the cruise staff care. It's like "OK, I got your paid fare. Enjoy your stay. You're on your own". Our Queen bed was a combine of 2 twin beds. When my wife and I lie in the middle of the bed, we got back pain in the morning. Booked cruise with a promising promotion of 2 coupon booklets to spend on board. We received NONE. UNBELIEVABLE! Not many activities to do on board. Need to pay to rent movie. I wish this is FREE as I got from other cruise line. TV has very limitted channels. There were like at least 3 versions of E! channel in 3 different language. There was a channel that just displayed a plush bear for several days. I don't know what that purpose was. There was a channel that talked about excursions, but everyday it just talked about excursions for all islands. It should know which islands the ship already passed by and stopped talking about excursions for that particular islands because it takes forever to wait for the right excursions to come up.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Never a dull moment on this cruise always things to do, I love the array of choices as well as the different ports this western carribean cruise took us too, I would do the same cruise in a instant. Going out of New Orleans is another plus! BEST week of 2011 by far!

A Wonderful Cruise!!!! by CharlotteB

Sail date: /
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We cruise once or twice a year and were so impressed by the staff of RCI that we booked two more cruises! Our stateroom was immaculate, the wait staff accommodated and anticipated my special dietary needs (and I am not easy). We also went on a shore excursion in Falmouth and the weather was bad. When we expressed copncern about the weather, they offered a refund. This was an excellent staff and a very laid back cruise.

Wonderful Ship, Wonderful Crew, But... by DonD3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Voyager of the Seas is a lovely, large ship with plenty of entertainment options, and a wonderful crew. If the food was better, it would make an unbeatable combination.
