Review summary

This was my 10th cruise. The only disappointment I felt was with my time dining. During lunch on the day we boarded, we attempted to make reservations on the RCCL app. The only reservation times available (for any day of the cruise) started at 8:30 pm. We talked to the dining room, and they had us come back each night at 6:30. They did find us a table each night. One night we had some wait staff that told one person in our party he was sorry the soup was hot but since we arrived late to dinner, she needed to hurry. To us, we weren’t late, but on time. Our other wait staff was exceptional!

Embarkation

Pretty much walked thru and onto ship. Very little waiting in lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in both dining room and buffet we above average, but not over the top. We did have wonderful service overall. Izumi was an exceptional experience!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
With a port every day, we did not have a chance to experience any of the on board activities other than the spa. Everything we did there was great.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows we saw were all exceptional.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
With a select few exceptions, service was wonderful. Milmar and Komang and in dining room, Greyson our room steward and Washy-Washy at the Windjammer. These were the ones who put a shining star in our trip.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was clean and layout was pretty much as described.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was just the right size. We have had room 8320 on a sister ship, so we kind of knew what to expect. We requested a mattress topper and it was beneficial. Greyson made sure everything stayed ship shape during our cruise.

Ship tip

Make sure you check out the helipad.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico was wonderful. We arrived a couple of days prior to our sailing and plan to return for a land only vacation.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We loved this little island. We took the sky ride to the top where the view was outstanding. The bushwhacked drink was really good.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We did the half day excursion that toured St.Kitts then took a boat across to catch another bus tour in Nevis. Loved seeing the birthplace and childhood home of Alexander Hamilton.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
This was our favorite port/excursion. We took the cruise to the Pitons. We scenery, cruise staff were all exceptional.

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
We went to the Agapey chocolate factory and the Mount Gay Rum distillery. It was a good day.

St. John's, Antigua

We went to the beach on a last minute excursion decision. Lunch included was wonderful.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Did an excursion where we bus toured both sides of the island with time for shopping and eating on the French side. A water tour of the lagoon was included. Really enjoyed the history the tour guides shared.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Some might complain that this process was slow, but we couldn’t drop off our luggage at our Airbnb until 11:15, so it wasn’t a problem that we got off the ship at 9:30. Better signage could be used for the mass of people once you get outside.
