Review summary

Maybe this cruise would have been better if it wasn’t during the start of COVID-19. Thankful we were able to cruise and enjoy some ports. We would not take another cruise out of Sydney. Food was okay.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Boarding the ship in Sydney Australia was the same as in the states. Especially if your booked in a suite. This cruise I had a 2 Bedroom Grand Suite. Easy process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
As always I had the Deluxe Beverage Package w/ Voom. Pretty hard not to enjoy a cocktail or beverage when your on a cruise ship. Can’t really mess those up. Now for the food......I have it 3 stars. It was good but just not the same quality as I’ve had on previous cruises. Not sure if it’s because this ship was based in another country?

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Now to be fair this cruise took place in February 2020. COVID was taking over countries and ports were being closed and cancelled left and right. But on board activities were n/a. Not even pool activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room attendant, suite concierge, and other staff that we had contact with were amazing as always.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean, i did wipe out on the wet marble floor that was not even marked “wet floor” Overall ship was good.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Coffee is completely different in Australia. They do not have 1/2 n 1/2 for those who use it in their coffee.

I had a similar experience on another line at the same time. I suspect some of it was due to COVID.

Sounds like a good one for you.

Thanks for sharing. This certainly was a “one off” sailing because of covid. As you said, at least you were able to cruise before the “pause”. 🛳
