Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was very good. Ate in dining room as well as 3 specialty restaurants - all excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots of activities if you want to get involved. Best thing about the cruise is you can choose to do as many or as few activities as you wish!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some were fabulous, some mediocre.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Kids club was good as usual, although RCI should consider doing activities with the kids outside of the kids club area like Carnival does.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service from all staff- particularly waiters and stateroom attendants. Could not fault the service provided. Nothing was too difficult or too much of a hassle for them. All delivered in a friendly and professional manner!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Mostly well maintained- a couple of areas blocked off for ‘maintenance’ for a number of days. Windows in Windjammer were cleaned however still didn’t look clear.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
First time in a suite. Fabulous size, enough room for two adults, a teenager and a child. Balcony quite small. Even though this ship is 20 years old, room was in great condition. Only issue is that suites are located on deck 10 directly below pool/lido area and can be noisy at night time when people walk and run up and down. Was also noisy at night time when there were parties on deck.

Ship tip

Walk to front of the ship by helipad - it is awesome.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

5 out of 5
Live in Sydney - love it!

Noumea, New Caledonia

4 out of 5
Noumea is what you make of it. We used HOHO bus and went to Lemon Bay. Kids loved swimming here and there are 2 pontoons to swim out to.

Mare Isle, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia

4 out of 5
Didn’t take bus to Yejele Beach. We stayed near the pier where the tenders docked and swam in the rock pool bays close by - was great fun!

Port Vila, Efate, Vanuatu

5 out of 5
We organised our own private tour and visited a local school, Blue Lagoon, Turtle Bay and Vanuatu Chocolate Factory. Was a fabulous tour and highly recommend all especially Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay!

Mystery Island, Vanuatu

5 out of 5
My favourite port - beautiful, tropical island with clear seas, great snorkeling, and it is so small you can walk around the whole island. Make sure you are around when the plane lands and takes off from the airstrip in the middle of the island - you can literally stand right beside the runway!

Isle Of Pines (Ile Des Pins), New Caledonia Did not visit port

Apparently the Chief of the island passed away, so there was a mourning period of 2 weeks with no visitors.

Lifou Isle, New Caledonia

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed Lifou. We went snorkelling at Jinek Bay - $15 per person, it fills up quickly, so if you don’t get there early I suggest waiting till about 12.30/1pm. Also went to the freshwater cave which is a fabulous walk down a rainforest like ravine into a cave which contains a 7m deep pool of fresh water which is fun to jump into.

Disembarkation
