Review summary

The Voyager of the Seas is a beautiful ship! As first time cruisers, we boarded with a critical eye but we were completely won over by the experience. We enjoyed the shows every night. Our meals the main dining room were delicious and well-presented and our waiters attentive. We liked dressing up on the two formal nights as it made the evenings really festive. There were plenty of activities but honestly we never made it to anything other than two late night quiz shows!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room is beautiful. We never ate in the Windjammer, not even for lunch. Why bother when the dining room is available and so much more gracious?

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Elton John tribute on the Voyager was particularly good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had Grand Suite #1324 on the hump, which has a larger balcony than most. Having the suite was worth every penny both for the extra room space (particularly the bathroom) and the extra amenities only for suite guests. A great splurge if you can do it.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Voyager of the Seas is one of the older in the RCI fleet but she is impeccably maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved having access to the Concierge Lounge as suite guests. We also appreciated the big bathroom in our suite, with double sinks and a soaking tub.

Ports of call

Ravenna, Italy

3 out of 5
Ravenna is a lovely little town well worth an afternoon. The ship docks right at the beach, too, which is great for a good walk up and down the shore or swimming in warmer months.
Don't Miss: don't miss the mosaics in all the churches. Buy the pass.

Bari, Italy

5 out of 5
Bari is fun to wander around and it's very easy to take the train to other towns.
Don't Miss: take the local train to the cliff side town of Polignano a Mare.

Koper, Slovenia

3 out of 5
Koper is so tiny; however, it's a great jumping off point to other more interesting places.
Don't Miss: visit the Slocjan Caves, a UNESCO site. Spectacular!

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
Incredible experience to sail from and back into Venice.
Don't Miss: take a ride on the water bus (vaporetto).

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
What's to say except Dubrovnik is fabulous!
Don't Miss: take a tour of the countryside.

Pros: hospitality of the Voyager crew

Cons: leaving the ship!

Recommends Voyager of the Seas? Yes!
