Overall a good trip with family and friends. Traveled during an exceptional cold week in January, so we were limited to indoor activities for at least half of the cruise. This made areas like the Centrum and buffet overcrowded and often hard to find a place to sit.
Embarkation

The "Royal" app is very buggy, at least on Android devices. At the port, it would not display the sail pass needed to get into the building to get checked in. This happened to many other cruisers, and made the process longer than necessary.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Food was overall very good. Did not go to specialty restaurants, and mostly avoided the buffet because it was usually packed, and few places to sit after getting your food. Cafe Latte-tudes and Park Cafe were always excellent.
Onboard Activities

We used the solarium pool a lot - when it was open. Several times they opened it to children, because the outside pool was closed for half of the trip. It would have been nice to have been informed in advance that they were planning to do that. Hot tubs were very often packed with people camping out for hours at a time, so we often could not use them.
Entertainment

The first show had sound and lighting problems. Sound was often too low and sometimes it was hard to see the performers. Later shows, like the magician and Beatles tribute band, were excellent.
Service and Staff

Overall the staff were exceptional, very helpful and friendly. There was an incident on one of the sea days when both pools were closed and drained, and several staff members lied to us about the reason.
Ship Quality

For an older, smaller ship, it's very well maintained and easy to navigate. One exception was the elevators - frequent breakdowns, sometimes they wouldn't stop on the deck you selected, summon buttons would light up, then turn off without summoning an elevator.
Cabin / Stateroom

Exceptionally good room steward, very friendly and helpful. Cabin overall well maintained. The tiniest shower I've ever seen on a cruise ship. Lots of ship noises throughout the night, every night.
Ship tip
Choose a cabin on a higher deck. There should be less ship noise.
