Review summary

I would highly recommend Vision of the Seas for another cruise option. The ship is clean, the food is delicious, and the crew/staff went above and beyond in everything.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The terminal crew and parking attendants were top notch and they made our arrival to the secure parking and onto the ship incredibly smooth. They were just as friendly and efficient on our way out early on a Saturday morning.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was amazing with beautifully crafted dishes and a delicious variety of cuisines. The Windjammer Buffet was constantly stocked and the attendants were super friendly.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We liked the trivia games, the music variety, and especially the veteran's Tribute.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Our favorite headliner was Tim Rushlow! The stage shows were fun and entertaining, especially the Christmas Show.

Children's Programs

No children in our travelling party.

Service and Staff

Thank you for such an amazing crew on Vision of the Seas. My travelling companion and I were incredibly struck by the immediate friendliness and professionalism of everyone on the entire duration of the cruise and the MANY acts of going above and beyond to make our trip so memorable. As the week progressed, the crew stayed positive and made sure everything was running well. During the last evening, it was announced that Vision of the Seas was ranked top of the Royal Caribbean fleet in friendliness and we couldn't agree more.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Vision of the Seas is a smaller, older ship but it what it lacks in bells and whistles it makes up for in easy access to common spaces and a feel of inclusiveness. We never felt crowded but also never felt surrounded by strangers. The smaller ship makes for a more intimate and friendly setting.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was a good size and offered space for sitting but it was near the anchor which some people might find noisy. The room got stuffy so we were able to get a fan from guest services to keep the air moving during the night. The vanity and desk had a mirror, drawers, and plug banks, but a plug near the head of the bed would have been helpful.

Ship tip

The crew are amazing at answering questions, so be sure to ask for suggestions, preferences, and other recommendations for a more enjoyable trip.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Stayed on the ship.

Bimini, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The public beach is a short walk from the ship and there is a free shuttle for various stops related to Royal Caribbean. Sadly, the public beach was dirty from trash and you will need to hire private transportation to really see Bimini.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas Did not visit port

Stayed on the ship.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We did the RCI shore excursion Garden of the Groves/ City Tour. We were happy to meet and chat with locals and have the opportunity to try local fare. We were happy to go beyond the port to get a feel of the island and especially to help their local economy as they recover from Hurricane Dorian.

Disembarkation

Super easy!
