Review summary

This was the worst cruise I have ever been on. Gross, small, old ship. Disgusting food. We hated this experience

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was smooth and fast

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining food was good. Specialty restaurants were better, but service took hours! Buffets were gross

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Never once got into the worlds smallest pool. The hot tubs were never hot.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The stage shows seemed to be high school equivalent entertainment. We walked out of 4 shows within 10 min

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Kids were bored and running amuk all day and night

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Staff didn't care we were giving the wrong room, or that the buffet food was flavorless and bland

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Horrible condition. Rust and mold everywhere. The photos in this ad were taken when the ship was built 25yrs ago. They were sanding and painting railings around the pool, while we were at sea! Why would I want to smell paint on my vacation?

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
We got 1 towel animal. Way too small. 2 twins pushed together, made our 'king' bed. Mold growing in the shower vent. We did not get the honeymoon suite we paid for. The beds were so hard, I threw my back out and had to sleep on the couch. Went to medical twice because I woke up in so much pain

Ship tip

Chose a different ship. Never sail on this ship.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We were pulled aside by staff saying we needed to be escorted to customs, and to surrender our passports. We refused and asked for the authorities. We were shamed by port officials for standing our ground and not refusing our passports. All to find out they just needed paperwork for specific purchases we made on board. We were embarrassed, humiliated and paraded through the crowds of passengers passengers, like we were criminals

Sorry 😞 you didn’t enjoy your trip. I however have 5 sailings coming up on this ship. Most of the reviews were positive so I’ll make my own judgement. I mostly go for the SCC senior citizens care! I’m not hard to please!

Felt the same way, experienced the same thing with customs only to be told the reason is our last name was common and had to load our luggage on conveyor so they could scan it. Not sure what or why, but waiting until your exiting the ship is concerning.

Sorry to hear your experience wasn't great for you. We had an amazing time on Vision last year. Love the smaller ships.

Wow. Better luck next time I guess.

That sounds like a pretty bad time. But I'm guessing some simple better communication between both you and the ship would of resulted in less negative experience for everyone. I also have a question for anyone mad stuff like this happens during their sailing. Ship maintenance has to be done regularly and that includes sanding down and painting. The ship will also always be at sea while it happens. So who's vacation do you think it shouldn't impact?

Reading your comments I see there was definitely frustration that affected how you commented. I can still get a lot of the facts from what you wrote and some are similar to what I experienced on smaller RC ships. RC is a large company and has a broad range of ships. Their flagships are the larger ones and staff usually start on smaller ships and move up with skills and experience. I did cruises with RC on a mid-size ship (Jewel) and a larger one (Freedom). The experience was different and I much preferred the larger ship in terms of food and entertainment. The entertainment on the Jewel was much more like you describe (almost highschool) while the entertainment on the Freedom was top notch. Sorry you had such a bad experience and thanks for your review.

Oops sorry 😞 thanks

Ive been on Enxhantment when they sanded down the pool deck all day and that can be annoying but not to the point where i let it ruin everything and have a temper tantrum. I have also seen mold in the shower vents on Allure a few yrs ago. It is much newer. What did u think happens to that trapped moisture? Yes, there will be occasional rust. Would it all still be horrible it that passport incident never happened?

I’m gonna say the Titanic or Andrea Gale were probably “the worst cruise ever”. Thanks for the heads up, but I can’t help wondering if your just pissed off and it doesn’t matter if you were on this one or Icon of the Seas it wouldn’t be good enough? I leave Thursday and I’m hoping its not as bad as you say. I have a feeling it’s probably not.

Well regarding the passport at custom situation, if they had just simply asked what they wanted it would not have escalated. "Standing your ground" is ONLY a valid excuse when your LIFE is at risk, not for checking purchases. I mean all they had to do was ask; all that humiliation and whatnot was entirely thier fault for not politely asking the right questions.
