Review summary

Overall nice trip but i would not recommend the Vision of the Seas, find a newer boat to spend your hard earned money on. We only chose this because of the itinerary, which wasn't that great either.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room was fantastic! Alamao and Dwight were amazing! The windjammer was sub par. The food was generally cold and overcooked. The juices were either too concentrated or watered down. Izumi was good but overpriced.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool was nice. Not a lot to do onboard except pool, ping pong, and shuffleboard (too windy for this though). Fitness center was nice.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Entertainment seemed more designed for the older population on the boat. Acrobatics show with the couple was great though.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Not much for teenagers to do.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff made this a much better experience than it could have been. Everyone was friendly and always greeted you with a smile.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The common areas were kept clean. The smoking areas should have been more secluded. We are allergic to cigarette smoke and were constantly exposed to large amounts of smoke everywhere. The casino was mostly unbearable.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Our stateroom was dirty (hair and urine on toilet, hair all over stateroom floor like it hadnt been vacuumed) and in need of desperate renovation. Our pull downs were missing bolts. The stateroom window was rusted and falling apart. Only one set of 120 outlets and one of outlets in that set was broken.

Ship tip

Pick a different ship. Vision is old, small, and needs to be retired.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
No excursion. Self toured and it was fantastic!

Sete (Carcassonne), France

2 out of 5
Nothing overly exciting to do at this port. Small dirty port town. We did not do an excursion.

Toulon, France

2 out of 5
Cute little port town however you have to pay $25/pp for another boat to get to the actual city of Toulon (we were unaware of this lovely little detail). Not worth $100 for a family. Apparently there is another city within walking distance of the port thats just as nice. We did not do an excursion.

Ajaccio, Corsica Did not visit port

Tendering took almost 2 hours from the time we got our ticket, which at that point was too late to go ashore.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
LOVED Mallorca! Beautiful city! Lots to do! Hop on/off bus is directly outside of the port so that was a major bonus. We did not do an excursion.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Another beautiful city with quite a bit to do. Gets a little hot in the summer though. The city water boat was neat and can get you from close to the port to the main city area. We did not do an excursion.

Cartagena, Spain

4 out of 5
Fun little city, lots of flies though. Teatro Romano was awesome as was the city center. Easy walk from the port. We did not do an excursion.

Valencia, Spain

4 out of 5
Port is a ways from the city center and of course they offer a bus for $10/pp or you can walk a short 15 min walk to the nearest hop on/off bus station and see this fantastic city. There is a free bus that takes you from the boat the the entrance of the port which is a ways away. Lots to do so the hop on/off bus is definitely the way to get around. We did not do an excursion.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super smooth disembarkation. We were assigned groups and got off when they called our group. Super smooth and better than my previous cruise.
