Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the food was very good. The only issue we had was how Royal Caribbean has changed things up. They close the Windjammer Buffet at 3:00PM after that it is not open till 6:30 AM the next day. The Dinning Rooms start serving at 5:00 PM and stop at 9:00 PM. There are always days that my wife and I don't want to go to the Dining Room just want to go up to the Buffet and eat in our shorts and tee shirt. We also didn't care for the fact the only drink stations that were open on the whole ship was the drink stations in the Windjammer from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. So there was no where to get Ice Tea after 3:00 PM. I don't drink alcohol so when I am on a cruise I drink Tea. We also did not care for the fact that there was only 1 soft serve machine in operation on the ship and like the WindJammer was only operating from about 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and the was someone there that had to serve you it was not self serve.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We had a great time on the ship. We also did lots of walking up on deck 10 between days in port and walking on deck 10 we averaged about 6 miles a day walking. My wife enjoyed the Spa very much also.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were great. The DJ and bands were very entertaining.

Children's Programs

We have no kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Staff in the Windjammer, Dining Room, room steward were all very friendly and courteous. As were all of the ships personnel.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our only disappointment was that we had been on another cruise with Royal Caribbean and that ship had like a Mall area with all the shops and everything off of that mall area. They also did a big Mardi Gras parade on the last night on that ship that was awesome. this ship was more plain and no such mall area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The Room was very clean and comfortable. They could use more TV channels though.

We will be taking the same cruise in February of 2023.. same itinerary as you did. We have only been on the oasis class mega ships 3 out of 4 ships so far with Royal this will be our smallest ship since my 1979 Song Of Norway ship. We booked this ship for the islands so we know it will be a tad less to do but we are looking forward to relaxing on this ship.

I see your disappointment. Vision is an older ship and we have taken it off of our list also. The newer ships have other food options such as The Promenade area and sometimes in the Solarium. And, Covid has created a situation of not enough help so venues need to be closed earlier. I see that you did try to enjoy yourselves and make the best of things. Enjoy your future cruises.
