We were disappointed by many things on this cruise - the ship size, the food in the main dining room, and the ports that we visited. It was nice to get away for a few days but spent about 1/3 of our time feeling sick from the motion of the ship. The three times we ate in the formal dining room took almost two hours to get three courses. The food in the Windjammer was much better and took about 1/4 of the time. We probably would not sail with Royal Carribean again unless we were on a larger ship with a better layout and more activities.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The formal dining room took quite a bit longer than anticipated. The food in the Windjammer cafe was much better than the food in the formal dining area.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We attended most of the activities but found some of them lacking. The staff are all super sweet though which made up for some of the activities.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The entertainment could definitely be better.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Excellent staff! Very warm and welcoming.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleanliness and design were very good. BUT.....this is a much smaller ship than most and so we experienced a lot of motion. Most everyone was getting seasick on several occasions. Because of the ship's size, there are not a lot of places to go and explore. The shops are small and only carry overpriced items.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was spacious and immaculate! I couldn't believe how clean it was. The only complaint is that the cabin was very warm and the bed is super hard with flat pillows. My husband has back issues and woke up every morning in pain. We had to combine two pillows just to elevate our heads.
Ship tip
Definitely ensure that you know how small the ship is in comparison to others. There is a lot of motion and not a lot to do.
Costa Maya is a beautiful place but we ventured down to the flea market on the public beach where we were immediately pestered to the point where it became annoying. EVERYTHING at this port is way overpriced! I realize that these people make their living off the tourists but the prices they charged were double what you'd pay at Walmart. The massages on the beach are a ripoff! There were four of us who paid $25 each for an hour massage - we got less than thirty minutes. I guess they didn't realize that we could tell time! They don't change the bedding in between massages so you have people sweating all over the sheets and are then used over and over again. They were using generic baby oil to do our massages.
Cozumel had a lot more shops than last time we were there. The merchants are all still pretty pushy and their prices in the jewelry shops is absolutely laughable! They were trying to sell us sterling silver chains and bracelets for $500 dollars! Are you kidding! Every shop we went in, we found the same thing. They are so pushy and about bar the door to keep you from leaving.
