Review summary

We really enjoyed our seven days aboard the Vision of the Seas. The crew was friendly and helpful, and the ship itself was clean and comfortable. We had excellent weather, the food was very good, and the days traveling aboard ship were almost more fun than the shore excursions!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good, for the most part, which must be very difficult to achieve for the number of guests they are feeding. There were always a number of choices. Most of the dishes I tried were very good, and I was only disappointed once with a dessert.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We were not interested in very many of the activities offered aboard ship, as we don't do crafts, rock-climbing, or play cards. This was not a very high priority for us. We did very much enjoy the comedians and musicians, however.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had the best experience with our room attendant and our wait staff, who were always cheerful, helpful, and willing to go out of their way for us. We very much enjoyed hearing their stories about their homes and their careers aboard ship. Some had been with the company for over a decade or more!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is just a perfect size, and well-appointed. Having been in use nearly constantly for 10 years is starting to show on some of the upholstery, which needs replacing, but the decor doesn't look dated and the ship is well cared for.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The stateroom location was near ideal for avoiding too much roll and sway in rough seas. It was very clean and comfortable. The only thing I noticed is that the drawer glides in the night stands were both in need of repair.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
The shopping was pretty good.
Don't Miss: We enjoyed the boat excursion to Land's End, and lunch at Cabo Wabo.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was the one port that I might like to go spend a week at sometime.
Don't Miss: Historic tour and visit to the tequila factory

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
This is the port where we felt most hounded by people trying to sell things we didn't want - especially timeshares!
Don't Miss: Visit to the Cathedral

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Furnishings wearing out
