Review summary

This was our first cruise ever and it was a surprise Christmas present for me from my husband. He hid the tickets in our Christmas tree and made it really fun trying to guess what it was and find it. Our cruise was exciting and everything I expected it to be and more. Our Captain went out of his way to make our trip the greatest. He stayed in port so we could watch the sun set and when he spoted whales he let everyone know so we could take pictures and enjoy them too. Our room was great and the food was excellent, I gained ten pounds!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was great, as I stated above, I gained ten pounds and am still trying to work it off before we take our next cruise! The dining room food and staff were excellent. Our waiters went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and then some. We ate in the buffet every morning and noon and the selctions were fantastic. And at night we got a kick out of dressing up to eat in the dining room. We could not have asked for better food or service.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved the night life on the ship. Even though we are from Las Vegas and have seen many shows, the entertainment on the ship equalled the quality of entertainment we are used to in Las Vegas. We had dance lessons, we played bingo, we went to the art auctions, we went to the comedy acts, we took the cooking lessons. There was always something to do on the ship. We were never bored.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff we came into contact with were very nice, informative and eager to help in any way. You have an excellent crew on this ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always bright, shiny and clean. We always saw employees cleaning and polishing and everyone took pride in the ship and their duties. The ship was a lot larger than I expected and the size made me feel safer.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an outside balcony room and it was larger than I expected. I would highly recommend an outside room because of the views we had and also being able to watch the sun come up and having breakfast on the balcony. Our stateroom was always clean and fully stocked. Our stateroom attendant was great, we always had cute towels creatures left for us on our bed at night in addition to the nightly mints on our pillows. One night we came in and I did not see a towel animal and was a little disappointed until my husband said look up. There was a towel monkey hanging from a curtain bar with my sunglasses on it. We laughed so hard about it and wished we could have kept it.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We had the longest and best time in PV. I loved the shopping and the churches. We were able to take a cab to the shopping district before our tour that afternoon and had a blast.
Don't Miss: The tequila factory, of course!

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
I wish we had more time in this port. The shopping was great, but we really did not have enough time to explore. We did a bus guided city and folkloric tour and we should have struck out on our own.
Don't Miss: The cliff divers are death defying and a must see. One gentleman is 70 years old and still diving.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cabo seems more like a party or spring break town which we are too old to enjoy, but we had a great time shopping and bargaining with the vendors and the food is great were ever you go.
Don't Miss: Tall ship whale watching excursion. The whales were larger than life and the staff on the boat were very nice. We had a great time.

Pros: The captain was fantastic and the staff was great.

Cons: More restuarants to choose from.
