We learned that Viking has a 97% retention rate of staff and many of the fellow tourists we met were on their fourth or fifth Viking cruise. It was easy to see why. We loved how easy everyone made our time on board, our transitions from ship to excursions and back, our embarkation and debarkation, how easy it was to get questions answered and how informed we were kept about everything happening on board, our personal calendar of activities, and our on board account. Having free wireless was a surprising and welcomed gift.

The food was excellent. The buffet menu was similar to menu items served in the specialty restaurants and was of excellent quality. The specialty restaurants generally required reservations but no added cost and the food was outstanding.

We loved the history lectures and were so appreciative of the fact that they were available on the stateroom television as well as live. So many other activities were available that it was difficult to find the time to slip some things in.

There are just no words! The smiles and friendly greetings from EVERY staff person we saw, the immediate attentiveness to every need or request....we felt like royalty! And it was contagious. It was amazing to see how quickly it transformed the mood of every passenger we encountered.

If there weren't so many activities and shore excursions and such amazing food to eat, we could have spent all our time in our cabin. Of course our absolutely wonderful housekeeper wouldn't have been able to clean up our cabin and restock our water, snack and bathroom supplies twice a day like she did.
