On board activities not to our liking. Unlike any of our other 65 cruises.

Review summary

We have taken 66 cruises. This one may have been the last one, as it was a terrible experience, jail-like, but with better food. On board activities were chosen for the stuffiest of guests, who only played Bridge, or wanted to be writers. Never again for Viking Ocean.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
No problems. Small ship boarding standard experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Normal. Some dishes good, others lacking.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The people who would enjoy this cruise only play Bridge (3-4 lessons and plays every day) or want to be fiction writers (two workshops daily). No fun activities at all, save "Corn Hole". No ballroom dancing. Extremely boring, and we could not take it for 137 days.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Four undertrained singers/dancers in production shows, shameful to experienced cruisers.

Children's Programs

No children on this cruise. (Thankful for that)

Service and Staff

3 out of 5

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship is clean and well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Size is too small. Tv must be watched from bed, instead of chairs. Not enough closet space for 137 days.

Ship tip

Book another Cruise line. Never again a Viking Ocean cruise. Possible river cruise, OK>

This is where our world cruise ended. Could not wait to get off of this ship. We have visited every single port of call on other cruiselines. Most are delightful.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Sickened by Covid, or Influenza, we were cabin bound for a week. Terrible experience . We disembarked early, in Los Angeles, lost $80,000 plus... no refunds!
