As I stated this is not the best cruise line based on our experience. I'd rate it a 5 on a scale of 6 or a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. Would I sail with Viking again. Maybe. But I'd definitely sail again with Cunard, Windstar and Regent.

Food and Dining

The special restaurant only changed menus every three days and had no substitutions. I had beef short rib in the buffet which I couldn't cut with a knife. Some of the soups were cold and I had to take them back for heating. The pool bar also had some luke warm pulled pork. The afternoon tea had the smallest, least filled sandwiches I've ever had at a tea. Only the scones were good but it didn't seem you coud get more than one. This is just a few of the restaurant issues we encountered.

Ship tip
Check pricing with cruise agents. We found the "discounted" sailings offered on the ship were over priced.
We took the Rick's Place excursion and it was awful. The guide walked us forever because the restaurant didn't open until Noon. (start the excursion later) The food at the location was so limited it was embarrassing. We asked to get safron in the market which the guide ignored after asking him more than once. Instead he took us to a corner store where they intimidated us into buying a more expensive product. We didn't buy.
We had to find our own way to a taxi because we didn't use Vikings bus service. We asked someone while still in the building and they told us where to go but there was a long line which was for the buses. Finally we found our own way to the taxis.
