The cruise far exceeded our expectations and friends told us it would be great. The pace was perfect for us. All excursions exceeded expectations except the diamond thing. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it. One issue was the flight reservations. I requested an upgrade and got tickets in main cabin. It required over 20 phone calls and my wife and I did not get seats together. Please review this process. Also I was told my name is incorrect in your database. How can I change this?

A great first time river cruise. We had an excellent staff and made friends o board. We thought we would be the youngest at 30 but there were several people our age that made us feel at ease. The Christmas markets were great, food on board was amazing, only downside to the whole trip was the rainy weather.

Too much food and drink! Easy to over endulge. Viking staff makes you feel like a VIP!

We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. We would have liked some local talent onboard and some better menu selections, but overall it was great. I would like to see better descriptions of the degree of difficulty of some of the optional tours I would not have paid for the market tour for my husband had I know the amount of walking involved.

the staff was excellent. we enjoy the other people that we meet. we enjoy all the port of call.

Very relaxing cruise. Wonderful cruise staff, director and companions.

Our favorite part was traveling with friends, visiting old and new haunts.  The ship's crew was fantastic.  We could not have asked for more.

My only wishes for future cruises would be to get a heads up before airline reservations are confirmed.  We would have stayed a few days longer had it not required the expense of changing tickets.  Also, it would be nice to have some included (or optional) tours that were not always focused on the urban setting.  A trip to a forest or a day biking along the rivers would have been welcomed.

I could expound endlessly but the best summary of the trip was exceptional in every way. The accommodations, the staff, the chefs, and the information at every stop was all anyone could ask for. 

We enjoyed the cruise very much. There were some stops that could have been eliminated in turn getting a day or two in Amsterdam! Probably should change the name of the Cruise from Budapest to Kinderdijk. 

The crew was wonderful and very attentive. The rooms and the ship were spotless and the food was very good.

A few more nights of something to do would have been good. Trivia was fun. Perhaps, more game nights. 

All in all we enjoyed it, just was disappointed that we never got to Amsterdam.

I have taken over 30 cruises over the past 20 years.  I have stayed in balconied cabins, suites, and the traditional interior cabins.  I have been overall always very satisfied until this sailing.

I took my first Viking River Cruise last week. Here is a brief pro's and con's:

Pro's: 1) Easy embarkation/debarkation; 2) Friendliness of most Staff; 3) Virtually smoke free environment; 4) Walking Tours Fantastic; 5) PrePost trips were Superior

Con's: 1) Almost everyone became sick during the trip (probably some cleanliness issues, my party did not get sick until returning home); 2) Food was average at best; 3) Strict Dining Times (always had cookies); 4) Lack of Any Exercise Equipment; 5) Bathroom Drainage and Overall Ventilation Issues (limited fresh air); 6) Extremely Noisy due to 67+ locks

Seeing the windmills in the Netherlands and enjoying Budapest for the first time. 

The river cruise was nice, but not all guides were of a top caliber that you would expect 8n paying over  $30K.

The transfers worked well until we got to the airport to travel home.  We did not park close to 5he terminal and no one was around to assist with all our luggage.   Once inside there was very little assistance by 5he Viking rep to get us checked in for our flight s.  We all ended up going separate ways to take care of our needs. 

From the moment we met the Viking representive at the airport, we had a wonderful trip. The accommodations are amazing. I always feel that the boat is clean. 

The food is great. I am gluten free. Although the buffet items do not allow me to eat there, the dining room is very accommodating. 

The he tours are amazing. They are well planned.

we are planning our 4th trip with Viking.

We started out on the Baldur and were very impressed until we had to transfer to another ship via bus a little after we were midway in the 2-week cruise due to low water levels. After we arrived in Vienna on the second boat (Gullveig), we were advised that we were going to have to bus to our remaining destinations, ending up in Budapest in a hotel. We understand that Viking could not control the water levels of the Rhine and Danube, but they should have told us prior to the cruise that they were having this issue. The first we knew about a problem was after several days onboard, and then, we were led to believe that a transfer to another boat would put us back on schedule. In talking with folks later (crew and previous cruisers) we discovered that this is a problem they have been having for some time this season. We should have been told prior to disembarking so we had a choice in rescheduling our cruise. We had great service, food, and shore excursions. It is unfortunate they weren't more forthcoming on the obstacles with the "river" cruise.

My husband and I took the 14-Night Grand European Tour from Amsterdam to Budapest and the cruise was nothing short of amazing fro start to finish.

The Viking Cruise staff went out of their way to make our cruise a memorable one.  From the time they picked us up at the airport in Amsterdam....to the service provided on the cruise-ship - the staff went above and beyond and provided a great deal of attention to detail and an excellent service.  

The fact that tour excursions are included is a plus; and the tour guides were very informed and pleasant as well.  The sites were amazing!

2 days in Amsterdam, cruised down the Rhine, Main & Dandu. The entire trip FAR, FAR exceeded both of our expectations. Will definitely booked another Viking cruise. Already looking into a Russian River cruise.

Ship was clean and comfortable. Itinerary had many nice ports of call and sitting on the top deck to nice watch the countries go by. Service and food were very good. I have never had a disappointing Viking cruise.

The boat, tour guides, and especially the staff are excellent...

The weather turned out horrible, sun, wind, hail, freezing rain even some light snow, and that was all in one day... The weather finally turned nice the last couple of days.  Keukenhof Gardens are well worth the trip, however some of the other stops are not that interesting, and required to much walking...

Unfortunately this was not my favorite Viking trip...

Superb. Vikings ships were getting very old

Customer service. All the staff catered to our requests and needs. Having them all as Viking employees, who obviously are well treated made a big difference. The ship was very clean. The ease with which you can go on and off the boat was very appealing and the included tours and our English speaking guides were amazing.

Viking is a ripoff. We booked business class air but because Viking staff didn’t know geography were seated in the rear row up against the wash room bulkhead in non reclining seats.
