Review summary

It was a brilliant cruise, the destinations were all interesting and had interesting attractions close to the Ports which was useful as we like to venture on our own. Would visit this ship again and the destinations.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth, we digitally checked in and boarded with little stress. Staff were friendly and helped with directions.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in the saffron restaurant for formal dining was a lovely experience, however I found the food rather repetitive so ended up going to the waterside buffet for evening meals instead. Food at the buffet was also rather repetitive and compared to other ships, found it to be fewer options and slightly bland. Was still good food nonetheless but variety would have been good. The poolside pizzeria however was excellent, wish this went on into the evening or something similar!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The gym was well equipped with the changing rooms having a sauna free to use which is ideal for me.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
As all P&O ships, the Headliner Theatre Company were excellent and had some really good talent onboard!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our waiters and room stewards were excellent. Found the future cruise sales rather unappealing as some staff were rather uninterested In conversation for cruising which put us off interacting. Also the reception staff had poor customer service and communication as we got locked out of the cabin several times due to the door battery running out several times to our cabin and just told us to wait outside the cabin late at night. No apologies were issued which was disappointing.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Parts of the ship needed a good touch up, such as carpets in the main dining area and the paint however due to the age of the ship this Is understandable and was likely just an overlooked area.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was quiet and comfortable, great hanging space for clothes however was rather dated.

Ship tip

It's a relatively small ship, and overall I enjoyed it very much. One piece of advice is use the free to use sauna attached to the changing rooms in the gym instead of paying for other facilities if a sauna is all that you desire.

Ports of call

Vigo, Spain

5 out of 5
Been to Vigo several times and enjoyed it each time, a hike to the castle on the hill has great views!

Santander, Spain

4 out of 5
On the day the majority of shops were closed so definitely book an excursion!

Lisbon, Portugal

4 out of 5
Went to the aquarium via an Uber and had a great time! Walked into the square and had some egg tarts which are fantastic! Lisbon is almost like marmite, I'm unsure if I like it or not.

Leixoes, Portugal

4 out of 5
Free shuttle into Porto was quick however stops on the other side of the river so is a long walk. Had some more egg tarts, I recommend them very much!

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

5 out of 5
Amazing, I was massively surprised by this port and would definitely visit again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking was quick and effortless.
