Review summary

Overall I enjoyed this cruise. Using the app is essential but it isn’t the best for information. They want to be paperless on Virgin but it would be helpful if they actually had more information on the television along with ship location. The music was great and the food was unique. They had a bad selection of beer- no Guinness but it was on all menus. Wine was also not what was on menu. If you cannot spend your $300 bar tab then buy a bottle of wine to take back home with you from the restaurant.

Embarkation

If you are not in a suite you have to wait in a line. No water is provided and they sort you by the time you have on your app. So if you get there early try to jump lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
A neat concept for food. If you have food allergies they say to tell them ahead of time and when you get there they still don’t have a clue what your allergies are. They are not accommodating for special allergies so be forewarned. Book dining ASAP when you book cruise. Take into consideration port times & sunset times.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Lacking in activities but having great ports made up for it. They have board games & an arcade though.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The musicians were great, shows were lacking. The one circus show ended up cancelling all week.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Kayleigh at ship services just doesn’t want to be bothered. Room stewards are low key but helpful. Guillermo in food was the most helpful of all. Waiters in the main food court had a bad attitude maybe from being overworked.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Neat design and decor on ship. Elevators were stinky at times.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The room is a bit small for two people but it worked out for us. Toilet is cramped in the space but I found it to be nicer than other toilets on my past cruises. The balcony is crammed but the hammock is nice. Bed was uncomfortable- it seems like a cot with a nice mattress. The room attendants were great but they do not socialize with guests. Water was provided when needed & fridge was roomy & cold. A/C worked in this room. Use app to ask for extra towels.

Ship tip

Keep expectations low & this cruise will not disappoint! A cruise is what YOU make of it for yourself.

Ports of call

The Beach Club (Virgin Voyages), Bimini Bahamas

4 out of 5
Great beach club but difficult to get served. Lots of Speedos & thongs here! 😂 The ocean is clear blue. Lots of fish in water to see so don’t forget to wash off your sunscreen before entering…

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Good shopping, fun port, will not disappoint.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Great snorkeling (reef) and the locals are very nice. The wildlife sanctuaries are great.

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Cab fare around $40 to airport.

Disembarkation

They gave me disembarkation info on my phone the day before while I was at the beach. My whole app was out on last day. I was in the dark on disembarkation.

Thank you for the thorough review. I especially appreciate the news about food allergies. I am gluten free and found the same, clueless food service people on RC Odyssey.
