Review summary

The cruise ship itself is not so much better than the harmony of the seas. The staff is friendly. The food is not so great, granted they are cooking for LOTS of people. Our weather was horrible so we stayed in most of the time. But being that we stayed in a lot, it was disappointing that there wasn’t that much activities to do indoor. Not fair. And it’s the same shows/ parties playing over and over. Not much diversity in that aspect. DJ was great though. I wouldn’t do this boat again though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Wind hammer was horrible. Only decent meal was the my time dinner. If that.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
This was the worst part. We barely were able to do anything due to the weather. Most of our trip was spent indoors.

Staff was very nice.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was okay. Not much better than the harmony of the seas. Pretty much clean though.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was nice. Loved the housekeeper. Great guy!

Ship tip

Much more activities are needed for adults. Better food!!! Can’t stress that enough. Also, weather advisory should be noted before purchase. Captain pointed out that it’s normal during this time of year. We didn’t get to enjoy the boat OR island due to weather.

One being better than the other is a matter of opinion

I was in this exact cruise. I don’t get that the weather was horrible. Windy - yes but still 80 degrees and sunny almost daily. We sat on the deck in the sun everyday. Came home with the best tan. We got to Coco Cat around 11 AM. It rained for about 30 minutes and then the sun came out and it was beautiful. They have to repeat the shows throughout the week to accommodate thousands of people. If they didn’t have several showing times of each then no one would be a able to get into the shows. WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Sorry you were so unhappy.

I do believe, based on your review and lack of insight, that if the weather on Coco Cay was absolutely beautiful, your complaint would have been the crowds.

Hardly sounds like the worst experience of your life though.

Damn that pesky weather, how unfair! Shame you allowed it to ruin your time on a brilliant ship.

One must do his due diligence regarding the weather. The ports.

This time of year the weather is going to be nasty 🤢

Does symphony of the seas have luggage valet?

I understand how the number of activities decreases immensely when limited to just indoors but how would this have been different on Harmony given similar situation?

The weather is the weather. Clearly it doesn’t ‘always rain’ that’s a sweeping comment. However, when booking any holiday it’s surely common sense to take into account the weather. We’re off to Western Europe in February - So we’re not expecting to be in the pool or sitting out on deck, and we didn’t book a cabin with a balcony either. Research.

Thanks for the review and sorry about the weather but the ship has no control over that. Before we book we always do our research on the ports we will be going to like weather and etc. I hope things work out better for you the next time if you decide to cruise again.

This is so bizarre being all the other reviews from that date were extremely positive.

You cant blame the ship or cruise line for the weather. And in case you dont know, NO ONE can predict caribbean or gulf weather past a few days... lol
