Review summary

This cruise was amazing. I can’t imagine anyone not loving it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The easiest and fastest embarkation I have ever experienced. Completing pics ahead of time on Royal’s site and having boarding passes allowed us to be on the ship literally within 10 minutes of arriving at the port. One thing to note is you can drop bags in the parking garage if you are parking at the port. We wasted a little time dropping them curbside and then parking.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined at Wonderland, Jamie’s and Chops and Izumi. All were fantastic. A few notes: Wonderland: loved it, food was great, experience was amazing. Make sure you leave enough time if you have a show you need to get to. I would say 2.5 hrs is optimal but you can do it in 2. Jamie’s: Go for the apps and charcuterie and skip the pasta/mains. Chops: solid steak house dinner with excellent service. Izumi: Sushi was fantastic. But so was the hibachi. Both in one meal was is too much but both worth having. I would do a sushi lunch there one day and hibachi dinner another day. Probably the beat meals on the ship imo.

Onboard Activities

Laser tag was tons of fun for our group of mixed ages. We also loved the Abyss. Lots of fun was had in the pools on sea days and there were plenty of seats around. We also enjoyed afternoon quiet time in the solarium.

The shows are fantastic and should not be missed. 1977, Hairspray, the water show and Flight. Do them all!!! If you can’t get reservations ahead of time don’t let that stop you. Go to the line for people without reservations and you’ll get in.

Children's Programs

I have to admit I was a little worried when I took my 6yo on day 1 to sign up for kids club. The facility for that age group is pretty sparse. However - I quickly found out that’s because they spend all their time in there playing organized games with the counselors. My son asked to go there every day of the cruise and several times upon pick up asked to stay longer. And he is shy - I wasn’t sure he would go there at all. It FAR exceeded my expectations.

Service and Staff

The service everywhere on the trip is phenomenal. You will want for nothing and wait for nothing. Even in the guest services line they have employees questioning what you are in line for and trouble shooting simple requests so you don’t have to wait.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean. Tons of storage. Probably the most out of any balcony cabin I’ve been in on any of the big cruise lines.

Ship tip

If you don’t have tickets for shows go anyway and wait in line. I never saw anyone turned away.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

It was nothing less than perfect. I can’t imagine anyone not having a perfect day there. Walking off the ship And having it literally at your feet is amazing. The slides are awesome if you like slides. Get a shack burger - they are not to be missed.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

If you haven’t been to Magen’s bay it is def worth a trip. You can hop in a van for $10/pp each way. The beach is stunning and has restrooms, lounge chairs for rent, food and beverage service.

Basseterre, St. Kitts
