Beds too hard. I am only 44, my back, neck, knees and hips hurt. The worse bed I have ever slept on.

Symphony of the Seas

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 02, 2019

Ship: Symphony of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The cruise itself was good and fun. WIll not go on another president’s cruise again. The perks were nice, but did not outweigh the the over abundance of diamond, etc. people on the ship. For a president’s cruise it was not really a celebration, especially for the 50th.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
We were delayed boarding, were not afforded our Key privileges, it was a free for all, everyone jumped in line because we had all been waiting a long time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
THe speciality restaurants were not special at all. Hooked was the same that you could get at home. The lunch from Chops was a dry hamburger, and Jamies was nothing special.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty to do.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were top notch, a lot of money spent on production and it showed.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The waiters and room steward were top notch. The medical staff were horrible dismissive and incompetent. A lot of misinformation about the speciality dining package and how to book reservations and the restaurants and what was included. Too many long lines for everything. Completely disorganized.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The automatic sinks and soap dispensers did not always work.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Comfort of the cabin was good, the bed was too hard, the size was average, the cabin was kept clean.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
A fun place to visit, we were only there one night.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
Too much hurricane damage still.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

2 out of 5
The same is has always been. We were not in port long enough to experience it.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

3 out of 5
A lot for people that like water parks. The snorkeling was blah.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Disorganized and a lot of misinformation.

I agree the bed was like a rock. I asked the room stewart to have the mattress changed. I don't know if the mattress was changed or a plush mattress overlay was placed but it worked out.
