Embarkation

Wonderful!!! took some time getting from hotel to port due to all the traffic once we got off it took 5 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We loved the buffet on the first day lunch and supper, we had prime rib. However after that it deteriorated,we like to eat at the buffets because of the ease of dining rather than the MDR, and we are not over eaters, but the food was pretty poor, lots of mushy mixtures, sausages were weird textures and tastes. Maybe it is just not to our tastes or we are too picky (I worked as a cook for nearly 20 years and I would never have served food like that) On the other hand all the other food venues were excellent with no complaints. Went to Jamie's for lunch absolutely great. If we go again we will get a specialty dining package. MDR is lovely and if you want quick service no problem takes less than an hour just ask.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Gym could have used a few more free weights, Pools were deep and huge, and sparkling clean, 3 of them and most days had very few people in them. I expect that when the older kids are out of school this would not be the case. They were empty on port days when we stayed on board. I think there were 12 hot tubs, water was hot and the jets were powerful, always room for one more without crowding. Shops were pretty small with not much selection. I had a wonderful massage in the spa.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were top notch, professional, spectacular, Singing amazing, dancing, skating, acrobatics, slack lining were brilliant. We are Karaoke buffs and it was every night not long enough for us but we got to sing at least two songs each night, lots of good singers an the audience was great, clapping, cheering and singing along it was so much fun. Big gripe though, the Karaoke system was a joke for a billion dollar ship WHAAAT are we back in the 80s?

Children's Programs

we are an older couple but we loved to watch the little kids who were all very well behaved.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Claudius our room steward was a gem always smiling and helpful kept the ice bucket full for my wine spritzers. We left him $5 extra each day and $10 on the last day, I hope that was enough. Waiter Jean in the On Air Bar was great, kept bringing us waters and made sure we had drinks, We tipped him a dollar extra for each drink. This was unlike Carnival where you were lucky to get a waiters attention once. The Karaoke DJs were awesome especially my favorite Erick.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
after the first day of getting oriented It was easy to get around design was spectacular, art was interesting not gaudy at all like Carnival. Ship was spotless!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice and roomy. lots of storage. bathroom was so small room for only one at a time , sink was tiny and hard to use, shower was nice with enclosure rather than flimsy shower curtain, but this meant more room in the cabin, bed was hard but cabin steward Claudius brought us two mattress toppers. Although it was a central park balcony we did not really use the balcony, I would prefer the ocean view.

Ship tip

I wore Sperry Top Sider flip flops the whole cruise except for going to the MDR no sliding on the wet deck, I took a small foam non skid bath rug for the bath room ($1.00) as the bath mats are useless. Relax and enjoy, the ship is made for it. Do lots of research, watch videos etcetera, stay within your budget so there are no shocks when you get home. Lots of temptations on board. Be careful for the upsell unless you can afford it then go for it.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Rat race all around but a beautiful city, stay downtown at the port, very walkable and lots of things to do at Bayside park

Basseterre, St. Kitts Did not visit port

We had been ther before, we wanted the day to explore the ship

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Did not visit port

We had been ther before, we wanted the day to explore the ship

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Spent a perfect day on the beach with a clam shell lounger with a floaty mat, food was great, water was warm but a little too shallow for me, have to walk out a long way for waist deep water better when the tide came in. Saw lots of stingrays and a lemon shark about six feet long swam right by me one foot away, I was thrilled it was just curious.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
out in a flash waited about 20 min for our number to be called for our luggage, zoomed through luggage pickup and customs, never had to show our ID just did facial recognition, nothing to declare, and onto our bus.
