Review summary

We read a lot of reviews about this ship and that helped us plan. If you don’t want to be around a lot of people this is not the cruise for you. At times there were crowds but it did not bother us, nor did it seem overwhelming. But to level set we are use to large theme park crowds. We enjoyed this cruise so much we already booked another one.

Embarkation

We had the Key. Outside of the terminal the workers did not know about it. Once inside the terminal we were escorted to a host who placed us in a short line. We were on the boat in 10 minutes. We then were directed to the theater to drop our carry on bags off. They informed us our bags will be brought directly to our room. The crew directed us to Chops Grill where we enjoyed a lovely relaxing lunch.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good. We live in Orlando. We are use to mass prepared food. Our son eats a lot of fruit. We could find fresh fruit cups everywhere. We liked Park Cafe. We got the coffee card and the coffee was good. My husband is a Starbucks guy. He Didn’t have to go to Starbucks once. The only place we were not impressed with was Hooked Seafood. The server and food were just not to the same level as the other places.

It was a great way to kick off our cruise

Jamie's Italian

It was a nice meal.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The gym is crowded the first day but it gets lighter as the days pass. For those who go to a gym.. it could be annoying. It’s like the second week of January by the end of the cruise it’s like March. The track is nice to get a jog in or walk after eating. We did almost all but the rock climbing. The Flow Rider and Zip Line were fun! Our son loved the little areas for kids. Adults be careful on the Abyss. It can give you a bad burn if you slip out of the advised position. I slipped and got a bad burn. I had to go to the medical area. (Side Note: my husband worked in Emergency Department for 15 plus years in Large metro areas..he was impressed with all the equipment they had. The follow up after my injury by the crew was nice too)

Entertainment

The shows were great. We read the reviews about making reservations so we did. You may not get a seat if you do Stand-By. With the Key we got nice seats for all the shows.

Children's Programs

The last day of the cruise our son was sad he couldn’t go to cruise camp anymore. I was impressed that after day one the crew knew his name. He went to three camp sessions in total (2 am and one afternoon) The puppet show was interesting...

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone was friendly. They took time to interacted with our son. We ate in the Main Dining 3 times. The staff was nice but really pushing high marks on the survey. It was a little over the top at times. I would have given all five stars but the constant requesting top scores on the survey was annoying.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
We did the race around St Maarten. It was fun!! The tour group that ran the race were so nice! I wish we got to see more of the island.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We did the Rainforest Tour. The tour guide was great! Our five year old loved this tour. We got to see a waterfall, climb a tower in the mountains, and a river. It was beautiful. We had enough time after the tour to get lunch in Old San Juan and walk around. We ended the day with a popsicle from Senor Paleta as we walked to the ship.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

This was our favorite stop. We loved the mountain coaster and snorkeling. We had enough time to do activities and relax by on the beach.

Disembarkation

This process was amazing! We woke up went to a private floor of the dining room for Key guest for breakfast. When we were done a crew member got us an elevator and escort us off the boat. Our luggage was easy to find in the Key area.

Great review. Love the comment about the gym. That made me laugh because it’s so true.😂
