Great cruise, beautiful ship and cabin, wonderful and friendly staff.

One of the easiest embarkation processes ever

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
For the most part we dined in the Reserve Class dining room, but we also enjoyed Satabinis, Umai Tappenyaki, Spellbound and Love by Britto. All were good, but Love by Britto was extraordinary!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We watched lots of activities in the Piazza, and enjoyed the fact that we could find seating spread out on 3 levels where we could watch most of these.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Production Shows were excellent, but unfortunately the Princess Arena isn't large enough to accomodate enough passengers on this larger ship. As a result you spent more time than usual because you had to get there even earlier than normal just to get a seat, including the Premier reserved seats. They did add a third show (matinee 1:00 the following day), but there was always so many things going on in the middle of the day!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone is so very friendly and professional, from staff at the coffee shops, restaurants, cruise director, and just people you passed in the halls!

Ship Quality

Our Reserve Class mini-suite was spectacular. Everything is new and fresh, but also well thought out. Our closet was near the bathroom and across from the desk/vanity area. The closet had lighted rods, so you could always see the hanging clothes. The vanity was large and had two nice drawers until the countertop to store things inside. The bathroom was a very nice size for a cruise ship cabin, had a great size shower with wonderful water pressure, and even had a deep pop out drawer under the tissue holder to store things. The 2 tv's were very large (one at the foot of the bed and another across from the sofa)

The 2 tv's were very large (one at the foot of the bed and another across from the sofa). The only negative thing about 12451 was that it was an adjoining room, which we didn't realize in advance. As a result we could sometimes hear our neighbors talking. The other issue is due to the width of the adjoining door our large second tv across from the sofa was moved over within inches of the other large tv at the foot of the bed. As a result when you pulled the dividing curtain between the sofa and the bed (if someone wanted to get up early or stay up late) there were several inches of that tv on the bed side of the room, which defeated the purpose of splitting the room off if someone wanted to sleep while the other person turned on the tv!

Ship tip

Enjoy the beautiful new ship, variety of restaurants and bars and take advantage of the multiple things to do and see while on the ship!

Funchal, Madeira

I love Madeira but we booked a tour to include a sled ride. Unfortunately we were there on Sunday, and the sled don't run on Sunday. There was a note online that the sleds didn't run on Sunday mornings, so we thought they would just put us on the sled in the afternoon. We've done the sled in past years and had told our travel companions all about it, then we couldn't do it. Princess did refund $21pp, but if they had told us the sleds would not be available we would have booked a different tour!

Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands

4 out of 5
We enjoyed seeing Santa Cruz De Tenerife. We've been to Tenerife before for a week, so we went for the Basilica tour. Once again Princess sold us this tour, but lots of businesses, including the Basilica, are closed on Mondays, so we could only see the exterior. Why would Princess sell us a tour of the Basicilica for Monday when it was closed? We did NOT receive any refund for this, which was frustrating, and we weren't warned of this in advance when we purchased the tour!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The disembarkation process itself was great, but finding our luggage was a challenge! In the past when you have a tag color and number they luggage is grouped by both distinctions. In this case there was 6 cream colored tags, and all the luggage from those 6 groups were lined up all together in 6-8 rows. That made it very challenging to find all of our bags. We found 2 right away, but the only way I found the third was because it had an Apple Air Tag inside!
