Will never sail with HAL again

Sail Date: June 01, 2014

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Service was poor on all levels, not as we have come to expect on other cruise lines.  Food was fair.  Buffet food is the same as what is served in the dining room.  Major lack of activities on the ship, especially at sea days, mostly classes or lectures offered.  Very little enthusiasm among the staff, not like we have experienced on other cruise lines.

Ship Quality
for an Alaskan cruise that you will be doing scenic viewing - the windows everywhere were filthy and water streaked
Food and Dining
Food not that great, same stuff served between the Lido deck and dining room. Room service was much better!
Service and Staff
General lack of enthusiasm from almost everyone we encountered. cocktail servers would pass us by several times before asking if we wanted anything. Sales clerks just wandered around
shows were good
Children's Programs
Onboard Activities
mostly lectures or classes were offered. no games, crafts, activities offered, rather boring!
Destinations and Excursions
Cabin / Stateroom
standard size, nice layout, plenty of closet space. only bad thing was our room window was right under an outside deck light.
