This was a very nice cruise. We only had day of rough seas, but I took a Bonine most days at sea and felt fine. If you are wanting the cruising experience this is great. If you are wanting to see Hawaii, fly and stay a week or two!

Really glad for the trip....ship was a bit smaller than others we've been on but - not an issue AT all. More intimate. Was concerned about the days at sea - being bored - but nope! Nice and relaxing

This was a very good cruise with consistently good food, and the majority of the staff seemed like they actually cared if everything was alright with your vacation. All of our expectations were met and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. This has been one of the better cruises that we have ever taken, even compared to other luxury cruise lines that we have been on.

Fernando and his asst. kept everyone on their toes! It is a relaxing or you can have lots of fun joining the activities. It's up to each person what they want to do. No getting bored on this ship. The shows were great.

The music was better on this Princes ship compared to Celebrity. The food and selection was better on Celebrity. Since my wife and I are musicians the music wins out over the food.

15 days, 10 of which are sea days is a long time. The ship has lots to offer, but bring a book or something. There's a lot of r & r time. I would do it again.

Most of the staff were very welcoming and there to make your cruise enjoyable. Of course, the ones that were rude and in attentive are the ones that you remember the most. The Horizon Buffet is wehre I encountered an attitude with some (20%) staff where a single person would be completely ignored with regard to service. Tables weren't cleared quickly etc. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff at Sabatini's - charming, attentive, funny and good singing voices too.

This was my 9th cruise in total, but first time cruising with Princess. I thought the staterooms were great, but awful food and lackluster service/entertainment.

Overall the Star was great. We had never sailed Princess before. We've sailed Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, and MSC. This was by far the most relaxing atmosphere which is what we were looking for this time around. To ship is 90% in good condition. However the bathrooms are old and dirty grout everywhere. We expected better from Princess. The food and service in the MDR was superb and the best of any of our previous cruises. The service onboard was efficient and friendly. Embarkation and debarkation was the most efficient and smooth process we have ever encountered. The production shows were well produced. However it was disappointing the 3 nights in the main theater their highlight entertainment were comedians. Comedians are fine but never had three nights on a 7 night cruise with that being the main entertainment of the night. We would sail Princess again for the atmosphere and more subdued vibe. We've realized each cruiselines has its own features and best to embrace what each ship has as it's niche.

Had a great time, Weather was perfect. The food was better than usual especially in the Specialty Dinning areas

I did enjoy myself on the cruise. It could have been much better. I have gone on Princess before and had a lot nice cruise!

Horrible cruise. No air in cabin the entire cruise. The whole ship lost air for 1 day in Mexico. We were all compensated 50 dollars and 25% on are next cruise on board credit. Just got a call back from customer service over 1 month later. Customer service states even tho we had no air in cabin we only get the same compensation as everyone else for the one day everyone lost air on the ship. That just doesn't seem fair, I'm very disappointed as we dealt with no air in cabin for much longer then everyone else. It's not right. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I should take my matter from here?

One of the reasons we selected this cruise was because it was rated 4.5 out of 6 stars on several cruise websites, but it was the same as the 3.5 star discount cruises we've been on in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida, but it was double the cost. It was a clean ship and they may have spruced it up in 2017, but it seems to have a lot of mechanical problems that need to be fixed. The food was good for a discount cruise, but nothing special. If you really consider this a 4.5 star cruise, then the food was poor.

overall a good cruise if not for the air condition problem. But since we got compensation for the trouble, I have no complaints.

The ship and itinerary were great but the food was inferior to other cruise lines.

I cruised to Alaska in September 2018 for the first time since 1996. The Star is a comfortable ship with a staff that made us feel pampered. We have cruised 20 times with princess starting 1996 and have enjoyed them all. Club class dining was a pleasure on the Star because the staff was warn and attentive. They never attempted to rush us thru a meal.

I loved everything. That's all. Again, I loved everything.

Enjoyed the cruise but found the food disappointing.

Being a short relocation cruise, it seemed a bit un-organized and un-polished. Our room steward was fantastic. Food was good and most of the service was great. Entertainment of the boat was top notch, activities were just ok. The pools were fantastic! I did feel like the public restrooms looked run down and dingy. The whole boat had more engine vibration than I have experienced on other cruises. I don’t care for elegant dining much. We didn’t have any elegant nights but I know they would have preferred we dress nicely for the dining room. I don’t go on vacation to spend my time dressing uncomfortably. I would prefer to just come as I am. (As long as it is not in swimwear)

I found as a solo woman traveler I was treated very well by the crew. The table service restaurants gave me the option of sitting alone or with other passengers. I chose the latter and had wonderful meals with others onboard the ship. I never encountered any rude or obnoxious crew and everyone acted in a very professional manner. I was a little hesitant about the room I had booked due to where it was, but found that it was very quiet. I'm also prone to motion sickness and didn't get sick at all during the cruise in this room. Yes if you look closely the ship does show it's age, but you have to look very closely to find minimal signs of wear and tear. The medical emergency we did have 1 morning on my cruise the crew members handled it in a very professional manner., They were well organized as they helicoptered the sick guest off the ship. I would not hesitate to cruise with PCL again.
