The ship and crew were out standing. They were there for us at all times. We were given and upgrade, VERY NICE. Thank you. We spent a lot of time at sea,between stops.

third time on Princess and quality was as good as ever but seemed a little shortstaffed this time.

The waitstaff were so friendly. They seemed to really enjoy their job and were so helpful. John Vaughn the pianist was so entertaining and lovely to listen to. My grandmother and I looked forward to hear him play everyday we were on the cruise!

The cruise was great. The food was phenominal. The service by everyone on board was the best I have ever seen on a cruise. The check in and check out went so smoothe, I was amazed. The entertainment was fantastic - comedians and the productions. Only suggestion - get new coffee!!!

Absolutely Gorgeous

We, 3 sisters and 1 brother, sailed on the Star Princess to Alaska from June 8-15, 2008, she is beautiful!!! We all really enjoyed the 2 sitdown restauants. We also enjoyed the Sky Lounge, I was surprised more people weren't up there, the view was fabulious!!! Everyone was so friendly and their service was wonderful. We had a great room steward and he was very friendly. To top everything else we had the prefect weather.

The agent I spoke with was very adamant that Princess was a step above the other cruise line we had enjoyed, so we booked our trip. Unfortunately, he was completely wrong. The meals were lousy. The buffets were very small and had little selection, and the food was often dried out, even at mealtimes. The dining room food was scarcely better. It looked good but had little flavor. None of the meals were memorable. My next issue was the bed. It was broken down in the middle, and very uncomfortable. The ship was clean, the personnel were efficient, but unless you are interested in art, take another cruise.

The ship was very clean but it was clear that this was not the newest ship in the fleet. It was pretty well maintained but there were areas that clearly needed to be painted etc.

Was not overly impressed with the cruise (Star Princess). The food at the buffet was consistently cold, no matter what time of the day we went to eat. Dinner at night in the dining room was alright on some nights and not so on others. The night I has the Alaskan King Crab (which I was so looking forward to), the crab was overcooked. The entertainment with the Princess singers and dancers was very good. The other entertainment during the day got to be very boring. How many days do you want to play trivia? Our room was adequate and our steward was exceptional. Twice a day the cabin was cleaned. Would I sail again with Princess? No.

Cruise terminal had no protection from the weather; no one to help with your luggage. Crew onboard ship were excellent, waiters in dining room, cabin stewards, etc. Ship showed signs of aging and needed some repairs.

The ship itself was very nice, the food delicious and the overall service very good. However, if you were looking for above and beyond with respect to the actual cruise, you won't likely find it here if you are not of a very mature age. Although we expected the travelers to be older, unfortuantely the entertainment and even the spa and gym area were all taolired to a 80+ crowd. We found it to be very frustrating. The gym equipment was old and outdated, the aerobics class barely could be called excercise and the area had no air circulatiing and was extremely uncomfortable througout the cruise. Unfortunately, the feedback to offer additional classes or improve the temperature repeatedly fell on deaf ears. Additionally, many of the excursions were canceled due to poor weather, while this is to be expected and is understandable in May, the ship's communiication and organization resulting from this was extremely poor. The musicians on board were absolutely fabulous, however as for added entertainment, there was only one true show the entire cruise and the commedian that performed twice was dull and seemed disinterested. We really expected more. It's unfortunate because it detracted from what otherwise was an amazing cruise. Not for the ship, but for the scenery and Alaska itself. We can't express enough how much we enjoyed the actual ports and people in Alaska- it was majestic and beautiful with an abundance of things to do outdoors and the people were incredibly friendly.

We took this same cruise with Princess last year but we were on the Golden Princess. We had such a wonderful time that we thought we would do it again. There were things we hadn't had a chance to do and enjoyed those things this trip. The crew on this ship was not as friendly as the crew on the Golden Princess. Maybe we were extremely lucky last year, but they took the time to get to know us and went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time and had everything we needed. That was not the case this time. The entertainment staff were sadly lacking in their enthusiasm as well. I would say the exceptions were Danny, Fernando and Ben. Our room steward Lowell was also an exception. He was amazing and got to know our names the first day and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. I think if we do a cruise again, it will not be with this particular ship. I am not sure if the crews rotate or not, but I just didn't think it was that fun. Janet - Bothell WA

The ship was huge and clean. Probably could use some upgrades. We are used to Carnival. They are upgrading. TRACY ARM IS THE BEST PART OF ALASKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have told so many of my friends and clients, that they have to make this cruise "A MUST" on their future travels, and will probably put it back on my personal itinerary as well. It was WONDERFUL>

staff excellent, ship beautiful!! dinning room at back of ship created too long of a walk if your room was located foward.dinning room should be mid ship.

worst cruise ever

We sailed on the Princess Star for the first time- also first time on Princess cruise lines. my cruise agent recommended Princess. The ship was in "great shape" and was always clean. The 3 pools were great and the walking/running track was useful. The buffet was fast with a lot of variety. the dining room was average

Beautiful ship, childrens program was great, food was just average.

This ship was beautiful. The stateroom was very nice and the ship's staff was very accomodating. The food was not very good. I had the cruiseline arrange my entire trip including the travel arrangements. I was very unhappy with how my travel was handled before and after the cruise. I'm not sure that I would ever cruise with Princess again. I wasn't very impressed...
