Review summary

Overall, worth every penny. Great memories and made us excited about cruising again. The views from the balcony were phenomenal as was the cruising. More food then anyone could ever eat. delicacies for every palate.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were the last crew to arrive. The ships crew helped us diligently and quickly. All was rapid and well handled.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best food I ever had - away from home. All food was fresh and wonderfully displayed. The quality was great. It didn't matter if it was from a kiosk, buffet or dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Between shore and on-board activities there was more then we could take part in. The lectures were short and to he point.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment occurred throughout the ship. My old ears are a bit sensitive to loud sounds. This is what knocked the score down from a 5. All entertainment was well prepared, planned and executed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great staff! Especially the room steward.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Thank goodness for my wife! For many reasons, but on the ship I could not keep Port side and Starboard side straight. She knew each time on every deck. Fortunately there were signs everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
After the initial shock of the small bathroom size we settled in quiet well. The main areas was sebaceous and well used. The balcony provided ample opportunity to test the weather and enjoy all sights.

Ship tip

Pack rain gear! We did and it made the outside decks much more enjoyable as we had drizzles about everyday.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
What a pleasant surprise. we expected a cold Canada and discovered that due to the prevailing winds Vancouver is a more temperate climate. Clean friendly and beautiful place.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We didn't spend much time in the town itself - which was beatific and well planned, but headed out to a tour of the native sights and the rain forest. Clean and well worth it - sort of like middle earth.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Again not much time in the pretty town. This is where the morning whale watching occurred. We saw more than our fair share of Whale, seals and other wildlife. We got some great video of whales breaching. Concluded with a great salmon bake. The best salmon on the entire trip.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Excursion time to the Canadian Yukon and dog sledding. Long, but informative bus ride. We planned this area for the dog sledding in hops that Canada would have some snow - alas, dry ground, but the dog sledding proved to be great and exciting.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska Did not visit port

Came to the port just in time to get on the ship and head out.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Ended in Vancouver. The disembarkation was well planned and executed. Once in Canada the wait to get to the hotel was a bit long. Looking for those passengers that didn' t follow instructions.
