Review summary

This was my fifth cruise. Very disappointed. This cruise is for old folks. Excursions are for young folks. Everything was way overpriced. Won’t do Princess again. Other cruise’s the employees spoke English better and understood it better. First cruise wit rude employees.

Embarkation

It was good because my husband was in a wheelchair.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was boring and tasteless. Desserts were very pretty but tasted flat.

Onboard Activities

Could not do some of these things because of wheelchair.

Casino

2 out of 5

Very small. Smoking side had but a few slot machines. Non smoking had more. Some nights they don’t allow smoking at all. My husband likes to gamble since he is in a wheelchair and he was very disappointed with the casino. When special things were happening the person on the microphone spoke poor English so even if we had won something we would not have understood them. Almost all the machines were Asian machines and sometimes they played Asian music in there. Two nights in the buffet were Asian food. Maybe the ship belongs to Asia?

Entertainment

Did not go to them. Husband didn’t like musicals

Service and Staff

Two people were very rude. One at guest services and one in the buffet. The rest were very nice but some of them did not speak English very well and did not understand it very well. In one of the restaurants I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out medium well. The waiter said that’s what I ordered and when I corrected him he did everything to try and make it right .

Ship Quality

Ship was very clean but difficult to find your way around. Had to go down stateroom halls to get to some places. Felt sorry for those passengers because it could be quite noisy. Promenade deck was small so very crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were in a handicapped room and it was a very good size. My husband could get aroun quite well in his wheelchair and there was plenty of room for me. Very pleased.

Ship tip

If you are handicapped chose a larger ship. This cruise is not for young families or anyone below the age of 55. It was a floating nursing home!

Nothing but jewelry stores and cheap souvenir shops. Prop standing at doors hawking their wares. Went into one store and when I didn’t buy anything they got rude!

No snow or ice just rock mountains. Probably the wrong time of year for this one.

Don’t eat at harbor restaurant on the water! 30 bucks and you got one king crab leg! They had to take mine back because it was so rubbery I couldn’t crack the shell. My son in law returned his because it was cold.

Skagway, Alaska

Very cool town. It was small so was easier for my husband to get around in his wheelchair. The shops were more interesting with a lot of locally made products. Our kids when on the train ride and they said it was gorgeous! We were told it was not wheelchair accessible but my daughter said there was a wheelchair lift and wheelchairs on board. We were told it had to be a fold up chair and my husband’s is an electric wheelchair. Very disappointed that we couldn’t go. In the entire cruise there were only a few excursions that were wheelchair accessible (3) and they were not what we wanted to do or cost an arm and a leg!

Can’t really rate this because it was raining hard. We went in the gate and over to exit so we could at least say we went to Canada!

It was pretty easy.
