Review summary

We have been on the Star Princess before. Different room type and location. This trip I had a little more trouble remembering where things were, front or back of the ship, etc. We did hear someone else comment that the carpet on the hall floors in the cabin areas had different color circles, red or green, depending on the side of the ship you are on. Take note of this. It really helped us turn to the correct side of the ship when getting of the elevator.

Very fast and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had anytime dining. In the past we had to wait in line to get a seat. This time we got right in every time.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We attend the trivia events.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The production shows were all well done, But this is the third time they have had the same shows. I was surprised that on a 7 day cruise they had 3 production shows. We went to 2 of them. Comedians were very good too.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every one did a fine job. Only one waiter seemed too busy, but his helper stepped it up when we commented on the wait time. If you have a show or event to go to and let them know they will do their best to get you served and out on time.

Cold and rainy, but that's the way it can be. Good excursion none the less.

We took an excursion that went to the Mendenhall Glacier. Not to be missed! It is shrinking.

We took an 8 hour excursion. The White Pass Train and then bus into Yukon, Canada. Very nice time.

Our ship docked at 7pm. We went to the Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly Garden. Butchart Garden would have been nicer with more daylight hours. I would suggest anyone with the same itinerary, docking in the evening, skip the Butterflies and just go to the Butchart Gardens. Very beautiful, but hard to appreciate in the low light. It was open to view until 11pm, but our ship left at 11:59 and we had to leave by 10:30 to complete our excursion and return to the ship in time for all aboard.

Disembarkation

This was one of the first that I felt went very smooth.
