Review summary

I paid way too much for what I received taken into consideration that I traveled alone, paying for TWO but not eating and drinking for two. Further booking agent in Australia had not enough information about tor crosses and digs not know anything. Inc. your office in Melbourne which I rang. I will never book Princess again. Had a lot of stuff ups in Mt. Kinley and Denali as well.

Portofino and Capri restaurant food was very good. Great choices. The buffet was very Asian orientated. Not to my liking at all. Name tags of food was quite a few times mixed up. Further no where it was mentioned if something was spicy. If you have someone who is allergic to this you'll have a big problem! Also I think more drinks except water and ice tea can be given free of charge. I paid top dollar and am disappointed to see you charge for practically everything!

Onboard Activities

Your casino area is too big. Fitness center shoes not have a good airco. It's way too hot in there. I stopped going to the gym for this reason. Hot pools was good. Water bigger pools was too cold! Bingo should be for free!!!!

Entertainment

I expected higher quality entertainment. On deck 5 was each time same trio. The English guy singing and playing piano deck 6 was fab. The musical show with the group was beautiful but too short and could be more often. Steve is very good. Girl singing and playing guitar was alright. Talks too much. But I expected more entertainment.

Ramon was wonderful. When I boarded the floor mat in bathroom had two big black stains. This only happened once. One mattress in this room is terrible. As soon as you sit on it you sink to the bottom. It gave me pain in my back after first night straightaway. The young tiny girl working in the deli, from the Philippines, she is marvelous!! So dedicated to her job and trying so hard to please every once. Bryan was fantastic too. And Jeffrey in the kitchen in Horizon, fabulous too! Allover all your staff are great people! It is a shame they don't get paid much for the hours they do.

I was very unlucky not having the right knowledgable bookings agent in Australia, who I paid to book all for me. I had done my research as best as possible, I was not able to find a 2nd person who could afford to travel with me. If you pay an agent or organisation you can expect a service. That includes a service from Princess. Nothing to do with hard to please as I do backpacking too. Spoke to other travelers as well and next time I'll give NCL a go. NCL studios were already fully booked for this year.

Stuff ups: Princess Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge: dirty room and bathroom. Carpet clearly not vacuumed for at least a week. Princess Denali Wilderness Lodge: there were still people staying in my allocated room. Room therefore not cleaned, my luggage was lost for the full day so I had to continue wearing my wet clothes. I needed to chase (and wait) reception every time which costed me my valuable time I could have spent on excursions. When they placed me in a new allocated room the toilet was not working, light with fan not functioning, room was with terrible dirty stained carpet not even vacuumed. Also I booked the upgraded Tundra Wilderness Tour there. The desk lady forgot to mention to bring your own lunch as nothing can be bought. She did not mention the snack box either. So had no substantial meal from 7.30 till 6pm. Princess Fairbanks Lodge was a great stay! Very clean too!

I have always made my cruises a great vacation. I’m sorry you were not able to. Maybe you should try a different type of vacation. I hope your next adventure is better.

Do your research most are based on twin share and say so it's up to you what you pay if you think it's to much then go to another agent or do it yourself on the internet.. you need to get yourself a buddy and so you can .., have your money's worth .. or cruising may just not be for you plenty more ships but have a feeling by what you have said you would be hard to please you really need to research and book for yourself it's quick and easy and you can choose ....🙄

Why would you travel alone twice the price bad on you not princess every cruise is double occupancy. You should have done some research on cruising ncl has studios I believe.

Other reviews of this sailing

Beautiful views and ports of call and the Land tour lodges, but the cruise was old and more importantly staff was not friendly and many were infact very rude.

We had a great time !
