Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

3 out of 5
City is dirty, noisy, crowded, and the tour of Acropolis was rushed with a sketchy guide. Too little time in port. Don't recommend driving in Athens. Athens and surrpunding area needs days, but if you have to see the Acropolis.....

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Another best place to see. Take the local bus and do your own tour, but the village of Oia must be seen. Time in port too short. It is pronounced o-yah with the accent on the O
Don't Miss: Village of Oia

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
One of the best places to see. Go to the beach and walk around the port town Time in port too short.

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

5 out of 5
You have to rent your own car to have your own time to see Olympia and go to the beach. Time in port too short but doable. Prices may be good for certain items.
Don't Miss: Olympia

Corfu, Greece

Souda (Chania), Crete

1 out of 5
Souda is teh port wiht nothing to do. Chania is an old part with tons of shops selling the typicla tourist stuff, and places to eat. Waste of time unless you rent a car on your own and make your own tour to see discoveries dating back 6500 BC and to see teh palace of teh Minoan civilization dating back to 2500 BC. Do this and see Chania as well on your own time. Not enough time in port, but you can do the drive to Iraklieon then Chania and back to port.
Don't Miss: Palace of Knossos

Split, Croatia

1 out of 5
Too many beggars and not much to see

Pros: Good service

Cons: Small boat; poor performances overall; Seidwig was good

Recommends Splendour of the Seas? No.
