Review summary

A good cruise with some interesting ports of call. Unfortunately I think the ship was too big for my liking, with queues for just about everything

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Reasonably good but we chose a poor parking company so our driver had to walk in the rain to the terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Reasonable food everywhere

World Fresh Marketplace

1 out of 5

Always very busy, so tended to use other restaurants for all meald

Sabatini's Italian Trattoria

2 out of 5

Good food, but no Gelato for a sweet in a Italian trattoria!

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools were closed some the time , but others enjoyed them. Not much else to do.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Watched the BGT singer, who was good. Others around the ship were good, but it was difficult to locate where they were performing.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward could not do towel animals which was a disappointment. Drinks staff in the self service were so slow we had finished our meal before our drinks arrived

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
All areas were cleaned and well maintained. Some areas were too small and got very busy at various times.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A small neat and comfortable cabin, with a small balcony. Didn't get the chance to sit out on it anyway.

Ship tip

Expect queues to your favourite spots. Also book early for everything as spaces go quickily

Ports of call

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

5 out of 5
Excellent place. The locals are really friendly and they used volunteers to help with the number of passengers. Not only was it Coronation holiday, but it was also liberation weekend so there was a carnival atmosphere there. Mum couldn't get off because of tender transport

Bilbao, Spain

3 out of 5
Nice place, but they have a rule that only one coach can stop in one place at a time, which had us on the shuttle for an extra half hour. Left early to avoid queue for shuttle.

Southampton (London), England

1 out of 5
The port is unable to handle the ships that are docked there. 4 ships with a total of over 14000 passengers ground the whole city to a halt

La Rochelle, France

4 out of 5
Will be a nice port, when it is finished. City itself was great, shared a bucket of mussels on the quayside of the old port. Mum could get off and enjoyed it all.

La Coruna, Spain

5 out of 5
A walk off port. Went to the castle/museum and took mum for drink in the square. Lovely place

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and efficient. Unfortunately Southampton wasn't geared up for 4 ships so the approach roads were chockablock with traffic.

Overall sounds like you had a nice time. Being there during the coronation would certainly be busy, I’m sure.
