There were some disappointments, but overall we enjoyed our cruise and would try the Sky again if the price is right

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We enjoyed most of our food in the main dining room. Service, for the most part, was excellent. We did have one night that we and the people at the next table waited a very long time for our main course. I found the buffet to be repetitious and boring, with not a lot of choices. My husband, however, thought it was great. We did miss having ethnic sections, such as Indian or Asian, as we have had on other cruiselines. We really enjoyed Alfredo’s, as well as the Snacks and food in the piazza.
Onboard Activities

The aft pool looked nice, but it was next to the smoking section so we did not use it. The adults only pool was a waste of space. It is only three feet deep, so not good for adults. It was like being in a wading pool. Also, it was surrounded by walls with nothing to see, and was like being in a wind tunnel. The two main pools were enjoyable. We did not use the fitness center, but it looked nice. We have really enjoyed the Thermal Pool areas on Holland America, so we took a tour on this ship. We decided not to use this one, as it was a small area with no views, and the heated loungers were in the same room as the small thermal pool. Not a relaxing space, like on HAL. The Serenity Area was beautiful, but was all booked by the time we got on board.
Entertainment

We loved the music at night in the Piazza. We were dissapointed in the Take Five- I love jazz and was really looking forward to this venue, but everytime we were able to go it was always the same three guys, and they were a bit underwhelming. The production show “Rock Opera” was fantastic- I think the best I have seen. Sadly, the other production show was cancelled. The other shows were a lady singing rock- she sang only a couple of songs we had heard of. She was just OK. Another show was a woman singing broadway tunes- she was a bit boring and we didn’t enjoy her. There were two guys that were billed as comedy/music- we enjoyed them. There was the same comedian for two nights. He was alright. We were very disappointed with the main shows, but Rock Opera made up for it.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Wait staff were great, with the exception of one who looked annoyed when we asked for two waters, and he never did bring them. Everyone else was great- especially Jenny at the Bellini Bar and Pedro at the International Cafe. Our room steward was nice but I don’t think he understood enlish very well. We asked him if He could separate our beds, due to my husband not feeling so great, and two days later it still wasn’t done. By then my husband felt fine so we told him to just leave the beds together. When we returned to the cabin he had separated them. The biggest issue, though, was a mattress pad that looked as though it has never been washed, and sheets on my bed that had blood stains.

With the exception of the adults only pool, the layout was fine. Everything was clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had cabin D730. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen, but was certainly adequate. We liked the overall layout with the closet separated from the rest of the room. And lots of hangers! Our balcony was wonderful- twice the size of others, with an overhang for part of it so we could have privacy and could get out of the rain.
Normally we love Belize. We have been on several ruins excursions and loved it. This time we booked a snorkeling excursion, but had to cancel due to my husband’s burst ear drum. So we tendered in and then just walked around the tourist shops
The beach area has deteriorated over the last couple of years, but hey, it’s free, so can’t complain too much. Next time we will book an excursion to a beach club out of the port area. Roatan is a beautiful island!
