Review summary

Overall we had a wonderful time with absolutely perfect temperatures - 78-84 consistently. The main goal for this trip was to relax, perhaps more than for sightseeing in other destinations such as in Europe, and these stops mostly all worked great to accomplish this goal.

Embarkation

First time Oceania started a trip in Aruba and not well planned. Felt like an entry level ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent food and service all the way

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Gym was nice but could use a rowing machine. Pools were a bit too cool.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Always very friendly; but unusual for Oceania, was not quite as tightly run as usual. A couple of requests were not processed quickly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Smaller ship, but very easy to get around

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Wonderful and spacious cabin. Only issue is that it is at the very front of the ship, so every time time we would leave from or arrive at a port the preparation and motors for the ropes it was very loud, sometimes making it hard to sleep.

Ship tip

Tuscan Steak was great, went there twice

Ports of call

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Beautiful port, small very friendly island. Wind may limit some activities.

Willemstad, Curacao

4 out of 5
Quaint Dutch town, fun to walk around; again, a bit windy.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

4 out of 5
Decent snorkeling within walking distance at Flamingo Beach

St. George's, Grenada

5 out of 5
Took a boat to the main beach - beautiful and friendly

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
My favorite stop. Great snorkeling with an inexpensive $40 boat/catamaran to take us out to the shipwrecks, sea turtles and mantas. Bethsheba is a cool site with beautiful waves.

Kingstown, St. Vincent

This port felt dangerous, with nothing to see nearby and no major excursions; returned to ship after walking for 30 minutes. Should have been skipped

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was a bit weird having to leave our passports during the cruise due to Aruba's specific customs regulations, but overall not bad.

They take your passports in Aruba? How is that even legal anywhere on the planet? I understand if you had felony convictions and such, but wow! I would not allow that.
