Great Cruise however the demographics were leaning to older people with many walkers and walking aids

Review summary

Excellent cruise lots of things to see and do. Do not expect a party atmosphere which is what we wanted. The ship is clean and well managed. The cabins are a good size and always kept clean. The staff is exceptional.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and orderly - no issues at all

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was very good with a nice variety. The steak at Prime 7 on our first visit was without taste. We mentioned this and we were given another reservation immediately and were directed to another cut of meat which was excellent. Buffets were ample, selections fine.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The onboard activities were just ok. The older group (67-80) probably enjoyed them more than the 45-65 age group and below. The pool was adequate. The evening buffet at the pool was a very nicely done event. The pool overall was kept clean and tidy with very excellent pool service for drinks and food.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were just ok. The lounges were fine with decent entertainment. This is not a "party boat" which is good. That fact keeps things a bit lower key which is nice for a vacation vs. party time. However, the shows could be modernized and brought up a level or two.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff were exceptional across the board. Very personable, remembered our names and our preferences. If there were ten stars, I would award a full ten!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well maintained and kept very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was a good size with a beautiful deck outside. The living area and sleeping area were just fine for size. The shower could have been a bit larger, but realize that there are space constraints on a ship so - overall just fine. The cabin was kept clean. I would suggest that there would be more outlets and the availability of additional adapters.

Ship tip

Do not overpack. Expect the possibility for an older demographic. If shows and performances are your thing, look very closely at what is offered. If a nice relaxing and fun time with great shore excursions are on the ticket - it is a wonderful ship.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We stayed in Barcelona prior to getting on the ship. Loved it - great city with lots of things to see.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
Wonderful excursion with a knowledgable guide.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands Did not visit port

Palamos, Spain Did not visit port

PROVENCE REGION, FRANCE Did not visit port

Monte Carlo, Monaco

5 out of 5
Always a fun time - if it is your first visit, it is just wonderful. For second or more visits, there are things to do and see. The cars at the casino are always a blast to see, and people watching is good.

Antibes, France Did not visit port

La Spezia (Cinque Terre), Italy Did not visit port

Porto Vecchio, Corsica Did not visit port

FLORENCE/PISA, ITALY

5 out of 5
Pisa is something to see and mark off your bucket list. Beyond that, not all that great. Florence is beautiful. Get tickets for seeing David.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We stayed on the ship - so disembarked after the second leg of the trip, but was a clean and easy process.

All in all you don’t seem overwhelmed by the cruise. Where did you go? Our cruise is very expensive and we are looking forward to perfection

What do you mean by party atmosphere? I’m guessing you are quite young? I and my fellow guests are in their 60’s. We like a bit of music in the evening and maybe a bit of dancing too. Is this available?
